The children were so touched and excited that there were donors that wanted to purchase these for us and took to their learning about emotions and feelings even more serious so they could show you what they have learned.\r\nUsing a learning guide written by the author of the books to guide our learning we began learning about Scribble Spot. This character taught us that almost always we are experiencing more than one feeling at a time and this can lead to having really big feelings. From there we learned strategies to separate these feelings to understand how we are feeling. One example that the children shared is that when anger, sadness, and anxiety are mixed together they can be calmed with tricks. These tricks are subtle hand movements like touching the tips of each of your fingers to the tip of your thumb as you quietly count. The children also learned how one emotion can be separated into different feelings. \r\nAs the teacher, the most exciting part of the learning from our materials is listening to the children reference the different characters while talking about their own emotions. This has happened multiple times during conversations for our character education program. Since completing all of the books, the children regularly choose to read the books independently while holding the plushie.","fullyFundedDate":1728063055507,"projectUrl":"project/emotions-overload-help-us-learn-about-o/8566400/","projectTitle":"Emotions Overload!
