The timer allows a visual reminder for students who cannot yet tell time exactly how much working time is left in class, which has helped to manage their expectations and allow them to monitor their time. They feel independently aware of how much class time is left and are not as surprised when I announce that it is time to clean up. What a relief for all of us and this has reduced the end of class tears when something isn't quite finished! \r\n\r\nThe rug has been a beautiful upgrade for my room-- every student has told me how much they love it, especially my PreK/K classes who sit on it at the beginning of each class! Now that they all have a specific square of space to sit the nudging and pushing for space has been greatly reduced. This has changed how my classroom runs, and it is honestly just a beautiful addition to my room.
