The additional bean bags allow students to choose a comfortable spot without competing for limited space, which has strengthened our sense of community and supported positive social interactions.\r\n\r\nOne of the most memorable moments came on the day the bean bags arrived. The students were absolutely thrilled to see the new materials and immediately began exploring them. We used the moment to reinforce our ongoing lesson on sharing and turn‑taking. Each student had the opportunity to rotate through the new bean bags, practicing patience and celebrating one another's turns. It was a joyful, hands‑on learning experience that made the abstract concept of sharing feel real and meaningful.\r\n\r\nWith these new resources in place, our next steps involve expanding our social‑emotional learning routines. We are beginning a project focused on cooperative group activities, where students will work together in small teams during circle time and literacy centers. The timer allows a visual reminder for students who cannot yet tell time exactly how much working time is left in class, which has helped to manage their expectations and allow them to monitor their time. They feel independently aware of how much class time is left and are not as surprised when I announce that it is time to clean up. What a relief for all of us and this has reduced the end of class tears when something isn't quite finished! \r\n\r\nThe rug has been a beautiful upgrade for my room-- every student has told me how much they love it, especially my PreK/K classes who sit on it at the beginning of each class! Now that they all have a specific square of space to sit the nudging and pushing for space has been greatly reduced. This has changed how my classroom runs, and it is honestly just a beautiful addition to my room.
