The Dog Man series has been especially powerful for motivating reluctant readers. These books encourage fluency, confidence, and laughter, and students who once avoided reading are now eager to pick up a book and share their favorite parts with peers. The humor and visuals lower anxiety and help students see themselves as readers.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who struggle with attention or confidence have shown the biggest growth. One student who rarely completed a chapter independently now proudly talks about plot twists in Holes, while others ask to reread Dog Man during free time simply because they love it.
