Students now are able to work in the manner that best suits them and are enjoying having flexible options. \r\n\r\nFrom using the seating to listen to a read aloud, watch an educational video, or curling up to read a good book, the seats are being used daily. As a middle school English teacher in a small, rural district in upstate New York, I cannot express enough how meaningful your contribution has been for my students. In our community, the majority of our learners qualify for free or reduced lunch, and access to high-quality books at home is often limited. Your donation has opened doors that many of them don't normally get to walk through.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, our classroom now has 30 brand-new copies of The Maze Runner, Among the Hidden and The City Of Ember to complement our reading of The Giver by Lois Lowry. Your donation has allowed us to run meaningful, student-centered literature circles for the first time. The excitement when the students saw the books was incredible. In fact, several asked if they could start reading immediately! They love having their own copy to read, explore, and discuss deeply with their groups.\r\n\r\nThese books have transformed our unit. Students are engaging in thoughtful conversations about choice, individuality, memory, and freedom. They're learning to listen to one another, question the text, and support their ideas with evidence. For many of my students, literature circles have become the part of our class that they look forward to most.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has made it possible for every student,regardless of their circumstances,to participate fully. Students also have figured out we can move them in front of the screen for longer movies and documentaries.
