Most are living in poverty, are younger, and are already working below grade level. These items will help them to avoid some of the summer slide that happens each year. \"Summer slide\" is the decline in academic skills and knowledge that students experience during the summer break when they are not in school. \r\n I appreciate your support in helping me to provide a fun and enriching summer learning bag for each student! There was such joy on their faces when they accomplished finishing the book and then it was added to our author shelf.\r\nThe final excitement was when we had a publishing party and invited a 5th grade class to come and hear our books.
