One especially meaningful moment was during a small-group activity where students used the materials to make choices and participate in a hands-on matching task. For several of my students who are nonverbal, this was a big win—they were able to show understanding and communicate their preferences without frustration. Seeing them stay engaged and proud of themselves was incredibly rewarding.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their reactions were immediate and joyful. They were drawn to the colors, textures, and hands-on components, and many were eager to explore right away. Even students who typically struggle with attention were motivated to sit, touch, and interact. The excitement carried over into our routines, and the materials quickly became a favorite part of the day.\r\n\r\nThanks to our donors, the next steps for our students include using these resources to build early literacy, communication, and social skills through structured play and guided activities. We will continue incorporating them into individual and small-group lessons to support goal progress, increase independence, and encourage meaningful communication. Your generosity has truly made a lasting impact on our classroom and our students' growth.","fullyFundedDate":1767803470266,"projectUrl":"project/special-education/9956654/","projectTitle":"Special Education","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Boomhower","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10382949_orig.jpg?crop=4284,4284,x0,y485&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1767910575226","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10382949"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_21027","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":389,"numTeachers":38,"percentFrplEligible":64,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":80,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"10.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":80.0,"schoolId":21027,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Albertus W Becker Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Albertus W Becker Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/ravena-coeymans-selkirk-central-school-district/albertus-w-becker-elementary-school/21027"}
