One group launched a \"rock company,\" painting encouraging messages on stones to uplift others during tough moments. They come to class eager to create, often asking if they can purchase additional supplies to expand their ideas. Another team has already bought three water bottles and is preparing to cut custom vinyl designs after break. Their enthusiasm is so strong that many students have said they can't wait to get back to school so they can keep building.\r\n\r\nWe also have a student designing digital products who is now using the Cricut materials to create innovative, professional‑looking business cards. Across the board, students are learning to think like creators and consumers — selecting materials, comparing costs, and building budgets that reflect real‑world decision‑making. Our focus on \"adding value\" to both the product and the customer experience has already sparked thoughtful conversations about quality, pricing, and purpose.\r\n\r\nYour generosity didn't just provide supplies; it opened the door for students to see themselves as capable entrepreneurs. They are dreaming bigger, planning smarter, and stepping into school each day with excitement and ownership. We can't wait to share how their businesses grow from here. At the beginning of the year, we had our 8th grade health lesson on good personal hygiene. When learning about this topic, we discuss all the ways to keep our body clean. We also talk about body odor and ways to keep our body smelling fresh. Being able to offer each of my students a deodorant while learning about this topic was so special. Students were excited to pick from the 2 different scents. After the lesson, I had students tell me where they are keeping their mini deodorant. Some decided to keep them in their lockers or gym bags, and some brought them home to use. Middle school can be a stressful time for kids, I'm glad my students don't have to add body odor onto the list of things that cause them stress.
