The equipment that you provided has enabled more students to be actively engaged in our club as we now have enough devices to handle as many students as we can fit in the room.\r\n\r\nYour generous donation has also enabled us to compete in our first Hackathon. Recently we used the laptops and peripherals to compete in a practice Hackathon called a Skills Dash. Students were able to adeptly navigate the required challenges and I was impressed to see how powerful the laptops that you provided truly are.\r\n\r\nThank you also for coming to our school on December 11 and bringing the News 12 team. Now that the dust has settled with the Winter Concert and we are starting to read notes on strings that they may not have used extensively in elementary school, this String Training worksheet resource has come in extremely handy during small group homogeneous instrument lessons. This is beginning to build the confidence my 7th graders need as they master notes on the C & E strings on their respective instruments. The contents of this resource not only focus on pitch reading, but also rhythm and time signature -- which is great as I reintroduce 3/4 time to my 7th graders with one of their spring concert pieces! This resource will be useful for many years of middle school musicians to come, and I can't be more grateful for your generosity.\r\nP.S. I don't have pictures of my students working with this resource, but I wanted to share pictures from our most recent winter concert so that you can see who benefits from your gift!","fullyFundedDate":1726061220973,"projectUrl":"project/string-training-for-string-players/8694041/","projectTitle":"String Training for String Players","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Zarchy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1639450_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1685323182010","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/omsroom120"},{"teacherId":1639450,"projectId":8731883,"letterContent":"My apologies for the delayed thank you -- but rest assured, these resources that you have generously contributed to my orchestra classroom have already made a tremendous impact, especially in the Beginning Orchestra 7 class. Since they started playing in the fall of 2024, this group has grown tremendously and sound like they have been playing for YEARS instead of months. As a result, they have needed more musical experiences within our class in order to prepare them for joining the main Orchestra 7 ensemble this spring. These Sound Innovations method books and small ensemble books have allowed my beginning students to have an opportunity to hold their own with individual parts. Recently, we used \"Jingle Bells\" out of this book to learn how we can make our own small ensemble out of just violin players, which was a lot of fun! These will be resources that will be used for years to come with the OMS Beginning Orchestra classes! I cannot thank you enough for your generosity in making this a reality.","fullyFundedDate":1727456278849,"projectUrl":"project/sound-innovations-for-beginning-orchestr/8731883/","projectTitle":"Sound Innovations for Beginning Orchestra","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Zarchy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1639450_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1685323182010","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/omsroom120"},{"teacherId":1639450,"projectId":8731884,"letterContent":"My apologies for a delayed thank you -- but rest assured, we are more than grateful to you for your generous flexible seating option for my 7th grade general classroom music students! By the time my students arrive at their 3rd period class, they have already been sitting pretty consistently in two of their core classes for upwards of 90 minutes. Having the option to \"wobble on\" in stools instead of another hard chair (in the general music room, we actually use chairs that are the same as the posture-correcting chairs necessary for success in band or orchestra settings) during class time. When completing independent work, many students enjoy having the stools to sit on, which actually has started to increase their productivity. In fact, some of my other music colleagues have begun to use them for their classes in the classroom music setting, including for some of our life skills students. To say that you have made an impact on my students' ability to succeed with this gift is an understatement.
