The calming influence of the plants and the encouragement from the quotes seemed to foster an atmosphere of positivity and creativity that inspired them to think outside the box.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new additions, their reactions were overwhelmingly positive. Many commented on how inviting the space now feels, and some even mentioned that they felt more motivated and relaxed while studying. The integration of greenery, with its calming and stress-reducing qualities, was particularly well received. The students were made aware that my office, along with the counseling suite, are safe spaces to seek out support when they have an issue and/or are in need of a snack (i.e. may have woken up late and missed breakfast). The food items created a family and, often, a community environment where peers can look out for eachother and bond over food.
