People tend to see preschool as only playtime. Preschool teachers have that special ability to make learning seem like playtime, but the children are actually learning pre-reading and numeracy skills, as well as the social/emotional skills such as sharing and taking turns.\r\n\r\nWith the items that I received through Donors Choose, I was able to enhance that fun learning time. The TPT gift card is helping me to not have to always reinvent the wheel, and allowing me the time to create more fun Center time activities for my students. The playdough and other manipulatives that I received are allowing my students to experience things that some have not had the opportunity to experience before, all the while helping to develop their fine motor skills, which helps them to develop writing skills.\r\n\r\nAs teachers, we tend to purchase many classroom materials ourselves. With the help from people like you, it helps to lighten that load. I hope you know how much we, as teachers, appreciate that help.","fullyFundedDate":1734744622629,"projectUrl":"project/pre-k-is-a-blast/8865512/","projectTitle":"Pre-K Is a Blast!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Glocksien","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9797592"},{"teacherId":9820879,"projectId":8911561,"letterContent":"On behalf of my students and myself, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your generous donation of technology to our classroom. Your support is making a profound difference in the way our students engage with learning and in their educational outcomes.\r\n\r\nThe technology you've provided has become an invaluable tool in helping students reach their full potential. With the new devices, students can access a variety of learning resources at their fingertips, from interactive educational apps to online research materials. This not only helps them grasp complex concepts more easily but also encourages them to take ownership of their learning journey. The ability to learn at their own pace, receive instant feedback, and collaborate digitally has fostered a more personalized, engaging learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting aspect for our students has been the ability to interact with lessons in new, dynamic ways. For example, when students use tablets to explore virtual field trips or to engage with educational games, they experience the content on a deeper level. They are no longer passive learners but active participants in their education. This hands-on approach to learning has sparked curiosity and excitement, which is truly inspiring to witness.\r\n\r\nSeveral students, in particular, have really warmed to the new technology. One student who previously struggled with reading has found great success using text-to-speech apps. The ability to hear the words as they read along has improved their fluency and confidence. Another student with a passion for coding has been able to use programming tools to bring their creative ideas to life, which has not only boosted their enthusiasm for learning but also ignited a desire to pursue more technology-related projects. It's been incredible to see how the technology has unlocked their potential and helped them engage with the curriculum in ways they never thought possible.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has truly made a lasting impact on our classroom, and we are so grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1730476511769,"projectUrl":"project/pre-k-essential-tools-for-math/8911561/","projectTitle":"Pre-K Essential Tools for Math!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kennedy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9820879"},{"teacherId":9785649,"projectId":8912028,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation! It definitely makes it more comfortable. They always ask if they can take one and take very good care of them. Also thank you for the Play Doh. The children love playing with it during indoor recess if they are unable to go outside. We also use it for spelling and math activities. They were so excited when they arrived! The children use them on a daily basis when they read, do work, or go on their Chromebook. They always ask if they can get a cushion and it definitely makes sitting on the floor comfortable! They thought the table spots were so cool! We use them daily at guided reading groups to do all sorts of word work, spelling activities or writing a response to a book. It saves paper and is a quick way to check in for understanding.
