Our classroom printer has helped us tremendously in the short time we've had it. We have implemented fast approaches to helping our ENL classes and ICT classes. I teach 8 visual arts classes, 3 of those are ENL and 3 are ICT. Even in the 2 general ed classes the printers have helped us so much. Things we have used our printer for include: visual examples of art used when comparing abstract art vs. realistic art, Cornell notes-catcher for students to remain engaged and supported during 75 minute lessons, prints of student artwork for peer review and class critiques, on-hand translations in Spanish and French. Having the necessary glossaries, visual aids, graphic organizers, and sentence starters has helped me make my visual arts much more engaging for my students. I have been able to use concrete examples when speaking about concepts that may be challenging to them.\r\n\r\nStudents are so excited to have tangible examples in their hands for more freedom during their small group activities. They truly appreciate and learn better with their printed out Cornell notes/note catchers with translations because they focus on the information being written rather than on how much space they need to anticipate having. \r\n\r\nSeeing the look on their faces when they had actual prints of their artwork was our favorite part about having this amazing donation made to us. They felt pride and joy and even more inspired to continue creating.","fullyFundedDate":1758898990896,"projectUrl":"project/i-can-see-clearly-now-our-printers-hom/9619580/","projectTitle":"I Can See Clearly Now, Our Printer's Home!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Santana","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6858401_orig.jpg?crop=3572,3572,x0,y297&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755515680210","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/coris"},{"teacherId":9728978,"projectId":9834057,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our cooking class has been transformed into a more engaging, hands-on learning experience for our students. We are using the new resources daily as students practice essential culinary skills such as measuring ingredients accurately, following multi-step recipes, and using kitchen tools safely and responsibly. One memorable moment occurred during our first cooking lab, when students worked in teams to prepare a healthy dish from start to finish. They collaborated, problem-solved, and proudly presented their final products, demonstrating both confidence and growth in their skills.\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, their excitement was immediate and contagious. Many students expressed how professional the kitchen felt and shared that they felt \"like real chefs.\" Having access to high-quality tools has increased student motivation, participation, and accountability, especially for students who learn best through hands-on activities. The resources have also helped create an inclusive environment where every student can actively contribute and feel successful.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue building on these skills through more complex recipes that emphasize nutrition, cultural foods, and real-world applications such as budgeting and meal planning. Our next steps include student-led cooking labs where scholars will design their own recipes and reflect on what they've learned. Your support has made a lasting impact by fostering independence, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for healthy cooking, and we are incredibly grateful for your investment in our students' success.","fullyFundedDate":1763481780787,"projectUrl":"project/fresh-ingredients-fresh-skills-a-fridg/9834057/","projectTitle":"Fresh Ingredients, Fresh Skills: A Fridge for Our Cooking Club","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gardner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9728978"},{"teacherId":9728978,"projectId":9660126,"letterContent":"Thank you once again for generously supporting my project at Family Life Academy Charter School in Bronx, NY. Your contribution has created meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities that have truly transformed my students' experience in our cooking club and classroom community. I want to share with you exactly how your donation is making an impact every single day.\r\nMany of our students are familiar with technology at home, but many families are not always aware of how technology can be used as an educational tool—especially in a cooking and nutrition setting. The tools you funded, including the Ninja Blender, Electric Hand Mixer, and Kid-Safe Knife Set, have become powerful learning resources that help students understand real-world applications of science, math, health, and teamwork. When students use the blender to create smoothies, they are not only preparing a snack—they are measuring ingredients, observing changes in texture, discussing nutrition, and practicing sequencing and following directions. Using the hand mixer allows them to learn about speed, consistency, and balance, while also strengthening fine motor skills. Even the kid-safe knives give them the confidence to practice proper cutting techniques without feeling afraid, helping them build independence in a safe, structured environment.\r\nThe new materials have also boosted excitement in ways I did not anticipate. Students walk into cooking club each week eager to see what appliance we will use, what recipe we will try, and how they will work together as a team. The blender has become their favorite tool—they love watching ingredients transform right in front of their eyes. The \"magic\" of technology makes the lesson feel fun, but it also reinforces science concepts like matter changing state, mixing, and emulsification. They are learning without even realizing they are learning, because to them, it simply feels like discovery.\r\nSome students, especially those who are typically shy or hesitant to participate, have shown tremendous growth. One student who rarely volunteered in class found confidence using the kid-safe knives. Another student who struggles with attention stayed fully engaged while operating the mixer and measuring ingredients, proudly explaining each step to her peers. For students who learn best through movement, hands-on tasks keep them focused and motivated. For students who struggle with self-esteem, being trusted with \"real\" tools helps them feel capable and proud. These moments have shown me just how powerful experiential learning can be.\r\nBeyond the cooking itself, these tools are teaching life skills that our students will carry with them long after they leave my classroom. They are learning responsibility, safety, hygiene, collaboration, patience, and perseverance. They celebrate each other's successes and work together when something doesn't go as planned. Their confidence grows with each lesson, and your support made that possible.\r\nThank you for believing in our students, our school community, and the work we are doing at Family Life Academy Charter School. Your generosity has brought joy, discovery, and opportunity to our students, and we are deeply grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1758899295816,"projectUrl":"project/blending-health-and-learning-kid-safe-c/9660126/","projectTitle":"Blending Health and Learning: Kid Safe Cooking Skills","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gardner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9728978"},{"teacherId":6053768,"projectId":9449509,"letterContent":"We are truly grateful for the donation of health books focused on mental health.
