From the very first day, the children were drawn to the materials—eyes wide, big smiles, and lots of eager little hands ready to explore. It truly felt like a special moment as they realized these new items were just for them.\r\nOne memorable moment happened during center time. A group of students gathered around the new building toys and worked together to create a \"city.\" They talked through their ideas, shared pieces, and even problem-solved when structures fell over. Watching them collaborate, use new vocabulary, and stay engaged for an extended period was incredible. These tools are helping them build not only structures, but also social and language skills.\r\nWhen the children first saw the materials, their reactions were pure joy—lots of cheering, clapping, and immediate curiosity. Some students who are usually more reserved jumped right in, while others carefully explored each item, figuring out how everything worked. It was wonderful to see every child connect with the materials in their own way.\r\nAs for next steps, we're using these resources to support ongoing learning through play-based exploration. We're incorporating them into themed centers, small group activities, and guided lessons to build skills like counting, sorting, storytelling, and cooperative play. The children will continue to explore, create, and grow more confident as learners each day.\r\nThank you for giving our youngest learners such a joyful and enriching start—your generosity is making a meaningful difference in their everyday experiences!","fullyFundedDate":1771960523757,"projectUrl":"project/little-learners-3k-classroom/9840331/","projectTitle":"Little Learners 3K Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gambino","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10313514"},{"teacherId":3182983,"projectId":9540698,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting our Pre-K 4 classroom! Because of your generosity, my students are learning in a bright, engaging environment where lessons truly come to life.\r\n\r\nOur color printer is an important classroom tool that helps support early literacy, math, and independence. We use it daily to create colorful name cards, labels, visuals, charts, and hands-on learning activities that help young learners understand routines, recognize letters and numbers, and feel confident navigating their classroom.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most is the color! Bright, interactive materials immediately grab their attention and make learning fun and meaningful. Visual learners and students developing language skills have especially benefited, as the visuals help them follow directions, make connections, and participate more confidently.\r\n\r\nBecause our materials are used constantly by little hands, we go through ink quickly. Thanks to your support, I can continue providing high-quality, engaging resources that support creativity and learning every day.\r\n\r\nPrinter ink may seem small, but to my students, it makes a big difference. Because of your thoughtful contribution, our students now have a cleaner, safer, and more engaging environment to explore, learn, and grow each day. Your kindness has truly made a difference in our daily classroom experience.\r\n\r\nBefore your donation, many of our cleaning supplies were running low, and maintaining a healthy space for active little learners was becoming increasingly challenging. Thanks to your support, we were able to restock essential cleaning materials that help us sanitize our classroom throughout the day — from tables and toys to art supplies and play materials. In an early childhood setting, where hands are always busy learning, touching, and creating, these supplies have brought peace of mind to both me and the families of my students. The classroom now feels fresh, organized, and ready for new adventures every morning.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the cleaning supplies, your donation also helped bring new play center materials into our classroom — and the joy they've brought is immeasurable! Our dramatic play area has come to life with new props and imaginative toys that encourage social skills, storytelling, and collaboration. The blocks and manipulatives have inspired problem-solving and creativity during free play, and the sensory materials are helping children build focus and fine motor skills in meaningful ways. Every day, I see their eyes light up as they explore new possibilities and work together in these play centers. It's more than just play — it's the foundation of learning, empathy, and communication.\r\n\r\nYour donation did more than provide physical items; it gave my students the gift of a nurturing environment where they can thrive emotionally and academically. For many of my students, school is a place of consistency and safety — and your support helps us keep it that way. The pride they take in caring for their classroom and the excitement they show during center time remind me daily of how impactful this project truly is.\r\n\r\nAs an educator, I'm continually inspired by the generosity of people like you — individuals who believe in the power of education and in the potential of every child. Your kindness has not only improved our classroom but has also shown my students that there are caring people beyond our school who believe in their success and happiness.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of my students and myself, thank you again for your thoughtful donation and for choosing to support our classroom. You've helped create a cleaner, brighter, and more joyful learning space — one that continues to make a lasting impact every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1743452591169,"projectUrl":"project/spring-refresh-for-pre-k/9181157/","projectTitle":"Spring Refresh for Pre-K!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bosso","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6746382_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753133263172","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6746382"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_127965","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":74,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":34,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":53.6,"schoolId":127965,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about The Richmond Pre-K Center - Tompkins Ave on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"The Richmond Pre-K Center - Tompkins Ave","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/the-richmond-pre-k-center-tompkins-ave/127965"}
