My Pre-K students were absolutely thrilled when the trampoline, sequin fabric, and lighting arrived. The trampoline, which is now set up in our sensory hallway, has become a key part of our students' daily routine. The moment they first saw it, they were eager to try it out. They loved bouncing on it during breaks, using it to release energy, regulate, and improve their coordination. The trampoline is a great tool to help students manage transitions and maintain focus throughout the day.\r\n\r\nThe sequin fabric and lighting have brought even more excitement and engagement to our classroom. The fabric, which shifts colors as students touch it, has become a sensory favorite. The children are fascinated by the way it changes, and they enjoy exploring its textures. It's not only fun but also a calming experience for them. The lighting has created a soothing atmosphere, especially during quiet moments or transitions. The soft, ambient glow helps students feel relaxed and ready to focus, which has been especially helpful in maintaining a positive, calming classroom environment.\r\n\r\nAs we continue with our lessons, we plan to incorporate these materials into our activities to further enhance student learning. For example, we will use the sequin fabric in art projects where students can create their own designs and explore how colors and textures work together. The trampoline will continue to be a part of our sensory breaks in the hallway, providing much-needed movement for students, helping them reset and prepare for the next part of the day. Thanks to your thoughtful donation, our classroom and sensory hallway are filled with opportunities for creativity, physical activity, and emotional regulation. We are so excited to continue building on this foundation.","fullyFundedDate":1740690791774,"projectUrl":"project/jump-play-and-explore-sensory-tools-f/9029404/","projectTitle":"Jump, Play, and Explore: Sensory Tools for PreK Success!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wanamaker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8802982_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1702404442606","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8802982"},{"teacherId":8802982,"projectId":9029418,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our DonorsChoose project! Because of you, our Pre-K hallway has been transformed into an engaging, interactive, and inclusive space thanks to the addition of our new sensory path floor vinyl and lava tiles. These tools have already had a meaningful impact on our students—especially those with sensory processing needs.\r\n\r\nThe day the materials were installed, the students were absolutely thrilled. Their faces lit up as they noticed the colorful shapes, lines, and arrows guiding their steps. Some students immediately started hopping and stretching across the path, while others observed curiously before joining in. One student who often struggles with transitions found calm and comfort simply walking the path before class. It has become his go-to activity to start the day with focus and confidence.\r\n\r\nThe lava tiles are a huge hit with everyone. As students press and step on them, the shifting colors and textures captivate their attention and provide soothing sensory feedback. One student who usually avoids floor-based activities now spends time exploring the tiles every morning, helping him feel more grounded and ready to learn. We've seen students naturally take turns, cooperate, and even create their own movement patterns on the path—all of which supports important social-emotional and motor development skills.\r\n\r\nThe sensory path has become a part of our daily routine. Students use it during arrival, after transitions, and during brain breaks. It offers an opportunity to move, refocus, and regulate their energy in a safe and fun way. For students who may not yet have the words to express their needs, the path provides a physical outlet that helps them reset and return to the classroom ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWhile we're not currently working on a sensory unit, the path still ties into our curriculum. For example, during storytime, we often read books that involve movement or action, and afterward, we connect those stories to activities on the path. One day after reading a book about animals in motion, students took turns pretending to move like different animals while following the path. It was a great way to reinforce comprehension and vocabulary while staying active.\r\n\r\nYour donation has done so much more than fund materials—it has created a shared space that benefits all of our students. Our hallway is now a destination, not just a transition space. Teachers and therapists from other parts of the building regularly bring their students to use the sensory path and lava tiles, spreading the benefits throughout our school community.\r\n\r\nNext, we plan to integrate more themed movement games and language-building activities along the path. Our students are eager to keep exploring—and we're excited to keep building on their curiosity, creativity, and need for movement.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your kindness, generosity, and belief in our students. Because of you, they feel supported, valued, and excited to come to school each day.","fullyFundedDate":1737125943928,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-pathway-to-learning-enhancing-o/9029418/","projectTitle":"Sensory Pathway to Learning: Enhancing Our PreK Hallway!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wanamaker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8802982_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1702404442606","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8802982"},{"teacherId":1955698,"projectId":8842967,"letterContent":"Once again, thank you so much for your contribution to my \"Pre-K Playground\" project, the materials that you helped us to secure will be used by my students to learn, have fun, and play safely in Physical Education classes.
