My students are incredible young people with diverse abilities, strengths, and ways of expressing themselves. Every day, they remind me that communication is more than words, it is connection, understanding, and being seen. Your donation is helping make that connection possible for each of them.\r\nThanks to your support, we were able to bring the AbleNet iTalk2 and BIGmack Communication Aids into our classroom, along with the 9-volt batteries to keep them ready for daily use. These tools are already transforming the way my students engage with their learning and their peers. Many of my students are nonverbal and rely on gestures, pictures, or AAC devices to communicate. With these new devices, they can greet classmates, make choices, answer questions, and express their feelings in ways that were previously limited.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students is being able to share their thoughts and have those thoughts truly heard. For one student who rarely speaks, being able to press a button to say \"hello\" to a peer brought a new level of connection with their peers. Another student who struggles to express preferences now independently chooses activities using the BIGmack device, showing newfound confidence and pride. \r\nYour generosity is giving my students more than just devices it's giving them independence, confidence, joy, and a stronger sense of belonging. Every choice they make, and every connection they form is a step toward a more accessible, inclusive, and empowering school experience.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping my students find and strengthen their voices. You are truly making a lasting difference in their lives.","fullyFundedDate":1760799284722,"projectUrl":"project/every-voice-deserves-to-be-heard-empowe/9818502/","projectTitle":"Every Voice Deserves to Be Heard: Empowering My Nonverbal Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Blue","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10233582_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756577382792","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ablue"},{"teacherId":10233582,"projectId":9735985,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom has transformed into a buzzing little indoor garden lab, and the impact on my students has been nothing short of magical. For many of my students, especially those with sensory and communication needs, hands-on experiences like this open doors that traditional lessons simply cannot.\r\nWe got to work right away. Using the seed starter trays, potting mix, and assembling our new greenhouse shelves, students practiced scooping soil, placing seeds, labeling pots, and gently watering our small but mighty garden. The gardening tools have been especially meaningful for my students with sensory needs. The feel of the soil, the warmth from the heat mats, and the soft glow of the adjustable grow lights have helped them engage for longer periods, stay calm, and interact purposefully with their peers.\r\n\r\nThe humidity domes and greenhouse have turned seed starting into an accessible daily routine in a classroom environment that normally wouldn't support an outdoor-style garden. Every day, the students check moisture levels, adjust domes, observe sprouting roots, and compare plant growth. These authentic, hands-on tasks are helping build independence, communication skills, and daily living skills in ways that feel natural, motivating, and joyful.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our next steps are even more exciting. Students will soon transfer their seedlings into larger pots, learn how to track plant growth, and eventually harvest the vegetables and herbs they have nurtured. Those ingredients will then be used by our students in the Learning Café, where they'll prepare simple dishes to share with our school community. Your donation didn't just give us materials; it created a long-term project that supports communication, sensory regulation, fine motor development, responsibility, pride, and community building.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students the chance to grow something real, something they can touch, care for, and be proud of. Your kindness planted far more than seeds in our classroom. You planted confidence, joy, and possibility.","fullyFundedDate":1758919772572,"projectUrl":"project/planting-seeds-of-learning-and-independe/9735985/","projectTitle":"Planting Seeds of Learning and Independence","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Blue","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10233582_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756577382792","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ablue"},{"teacherId":6979288,"projectId":7152960,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for providing out students with various things that help quiet the mind, support focus in instruction and they are excited to have. They spent time showing it off to one another and sharing with one another as well as remaining on tasks provided throughout the school day. The Levoit air purifier operates quietly throughout the day, effectively reducing allergens and creating a calmer, healthier environment that allows students to focus and feel comfortable.\r\n\r\nThe Puffs Plus tissues and Boogie Wipes have been especially valuable for students with sensory sensitivities. They now have soft, soothing options for taking care of themselves, promoting independence, dignity, and confidence. Even small routines, such as getting their own tissue or asking for a wipe, serve as learning moments in self-advocacy and growing independence.\r\n\r\nI'm so grateful for your generosity in supporting our classroom's comfort and well-being. Your kindness has helped create a safe, nurturing environment where my students can breathe easier, learn more freely, and feel cared for every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1760796983714,"projectUrl":"project/comfort-care-and-clean-air-for-special/9829417/","projectTitle":"Comfort, Care, and Clean Air for Special Needs Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Blue","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10233582_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756577382792","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ablue"},{"teacherId":10233582,"projectId":9700674,"letterContent":"The moment my students walked in and saw the big, fluffy bean bag chair One student immediately flopped into the bean bag and settled in with a big smile. Another explored the stretchy monkey noodles, fascinated by how they moved and have become a favorite. For many of my students, comfort and sensory regulation are the keys to feeling safe enough to learn and now they have a cozy corner that helps them do just that. The bean bag has quickly become our \"calm-down\" space and flexible seating space, where students can breathe, reset, and return to learning with focus or work from if that's where they feel most productive.\r\n\r\nEvery new resource found its place in our daily routines. The word-building puzzles, tracing books, and counting money activities have become favorite stations during small-group work, supporting both literacy and math goals. The book bins, folders, and storage containers help students keep track of their materials, an important step toward independence. Even small touches like stress balls and fidgets make a huge difference helping my students channel energy and maintain attention during lessons. The practical items such as tissues, disinfecting wipes, and paper plates keep our classroom healthy and welcoming, while snack breaks with pretzels have become moments of shared laughter and connection. These materials transformed our room into a space that truly feels like home: clean, comfortable, and full of opportunities for learning and joy.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, my students have the tools they need to grow with confidence. Each organized bin, laminated worksheet, and calm sensory break moves them closer to independence. Our next step is to build on this foundation, using our new materials to strengthen communication, reading comprehension, and self-regulation so every student can shine in their own way.","fullyFundedDate":1757891035582,"projectUrl":"project/creating-calm-joyful-spaces-for-excepti/9700674/","projectTitle":"Creating Calm, Joyful Spaces for Exceptional Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Blue","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10233582_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756577382792","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ablue"},{"teacherId":10233582,"projectId":9666048,"letterContent":"When my students first saw the new materials, they were curious. Several immediately began exploring our latest activities. One student who usually struggles to stay engaged during lessons spent time working with a tactile activity kit, demonstrating persistence in completing the puzzle. These small but powerful moments have already begun to transform our classroom into a space where every student feels supported and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWe are already using the resources daily in both academic and social-emotional learning activities. The adaptive manipulatives and visual aids have been especially impactful during our math and literacy lessons, where students can engage with concepts in hands-on ways that make sense to them. Simple tools, such as the printer, have enabled me to create individualized visuals for students and establish smoother routines for them. \r\n\r\nOur next steps are to build on this momentum by integrating the materials into longer-term classroom projects. For example, my students will use adaptive tools, visuals, and tactile materials to share their interests and strengths with peers. This project will not only reinforce literacy skills but also foster self-expression and community. Thanks to your generosity, we now have the resources to ensure every learner can participate meaningfully. These tools are more than just classroom supplies; they form the foundation of creating a welcoming space and fostering independence, confidence, and growth in each of my students.","fullyFundedDate":1756772162488,"projectUrl":"project/starting-strong-classroom-tools-to-empo/9666048/","projectTitle":"Starting Strong: Classroom Tools to Empower Our Unique Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Blue","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10233582_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756577382792","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ablue"},{"teacherId":7496499,"projectId":8718184,"letterContent":"Thanks a bunch for all the support on this project! Myself and the students can clean up in a flash. When we move to a new location, it's super easy to move around when needed. They love using the hula hoops during class and free time.\r\n\r\nThe nets, water bottles, and hockey sticks are a hit.
