As we unpacked the new supplies—like the sensory tools, storage bins, and colorful contact paper—they eagerly asked questions and offered to help set things up. It was a wonderful opportunity to involve them in organizing and taking ownership of their learning environment.\r\n\r\nOne especially touching moment happened when a student who typically struggles with transitions walked over to our newly refreshed calm-down corner and said, \"This is my favorite spot now.\" Creating a space where he could regulate his emotions and feel safe has already made a noticeable difference in his day-to-day success.\r\n\r\nThe contact paper has brightened up our shelves and desks, helping refresh worn-out areas and bringing cohesion to our classroom's visual layout. This is more than just a cosmetic change—it helps reduce visual clutter and supports students with sensory sensitivities who benefit from a clean, calming space.\r\n\r\nWith the new containers, we've been able to clearly label and organize our small group centers, which has made independent learning time more productive and less overwhelming for students who need structure and clarity. The sensory and manipulative tools are already being used during math and literacy rotations, providing the hands-on, multi-sensory support that helps my students access content in meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, we now have the tools to meet our students where they are—academically, socially, and emotionally. These resources are helping us build a more functional and responsive classroom, where every child feels seen, supported, and empowered to grow.\r\n\r\nOur next steps include continuing to develop student independence during center time, building self-regulation skills using the calming corner, and creating visual supports to enhance communication for students with emerging language. Your donation has laid the foundation for these goals and made our daily learning environment stronger in every way.\r\n\r\nFrom all of us—thank you for believing in our students and helping build a classroom where they can truly thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1758899039260,"projectUrl":"project/supporting-every-learner-with-basic-clas/9559372/","projectTitle":"Supporting Every Learner With Basic Classroom Needs","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Felix","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6257445_orig.jpg?crop=1176,1176,x0,y282&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1629692694943","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6257445"},{"teacherId":4569954,"projectId":9310524,"letterContent":"Your generosity is already making a difference When you provided the sanitize spray and wipes the students were ecstatic they loved a clean desk and clean air. Since receiving the math manipulatives, our classroom has been full of excitement and hands-on discovery. The moment my 2nd and 3rd grade students saw the new materials—like the colorful rekenreks, base-ten blocks, and fraction tiles—their eyes lit up with curiosity. For many of my students with special needs, abstract math concepts can be overwhelming, but these tactile tools immediately made learning feel more accessible and fun.\r\n\r\nOne of our favorite moments so far has been a small-group lesson on place value using base-ten blocks. For the first time, several students were able to physically build numbers and truly see how tens and ones work together. The manipulatives helped spark meaningful \"aha\" moments that traditional worksheets just couldn't provide. We're now moving into early multiplication, using counting bears and arrays to explore equal groups. These tools are being used daily in both small group and one-on-one instruction, allowing for repetition, exploration, and success. Because of you, my students are gaining confidence in math and are genuinely excited to learn.\r\n\r\nThank you for making such a meaningful impact on our classroom. The early reader books have become a cornerstone of our daily reading time. We've been using them to group students according to their reading levels, which allows each child to read at their own pace and build confidence. The engaging characters and playful storylines have our students eager to turn each page, and the brightly colored paper you provided has helped us create eye-catching activities, signs, and visual aids that keep our young learners actively engaged.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments came during our first small-group reading session with the new books. As soon as the students opened them, the room filled with \"oohs\" and \"wows.\" They were fascinated not only by the stories but also by the chance to hold their \"very own\" books that matched their reading level. Many of them immediately wanted to share their favorite parts with classmates, turning the activity into a lively mix of reading, storytelling, and teamwork.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll be using these books and materials to create student-led \"story corners,\" where each group will decorate a space using the colorful paper and then take turns reading aloud to their classmates. This will help them develop both reading fluency and public speaking skills, all while having fun in a creative, supportive environment. Your kindness has not just provided materials, it has helped nurture a love for reading and learning that will last far beyond this school year.","fullyFundedDate":1680788001640,"projectUrl":"project/kinder-learn-and-fun/7264171/","projectTitle":"!Kinder Learn and Fun!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jean","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8995043"},{"teacherId":9364553,"projectId":8715297,"letterContent":"The students are really excited about the interactive features and the ability to receive instant feedback on their work.
