Your donation of a new small-group table and a collection of library books has truly transformed our classroom environment. In a special education setting, having the right tools to meet students where they are makes all the difference, and your support has provided exactly that.\r\nThe Big Reveal\r\nWhen the boxes of books first arrived, the room was filled with pure excitement. One of my students, who often struggles with transitions, immediately started helping me unbox the titles, pointing out covers that caught his eye. It was a beautiful moment of pure curiosity and joy.\r\nAs for the table, the students are eagerly watching as it is being put up! It is currently being assembled and prepared for its permanent home in our \"Learning Zone.\" We plan to take and share pictures in January as soon as the students take their seats for the very first time. We can't wait to show you the table in action!\r\nResources in Action\r\nOnce the table is ready, it will become our \"Success Station.\" Because the table allows me to sit closely with a small group, I can provide the immediate feedback and sensory support my students need.\r\nA specific moment that stands out from this week involved the new books. During our reading block, I watched two students, who usually shy away from reading aloud, sit together in our library nook lost in a new book you provided. They were laughing and helping each other decode difficult words—a level of engagement I hadn't seen from them all year.\r\nWhat's Next for Us\r\nRight now, we are working on a \"Character Journey\" project. My students are selecting a character from one of the new library books and mapping out their emotional growth throughout the story.\r\n• Next Step: In January, the new table will serve as our \"Collaborative Workshop\" where students will use art supplies to create posters of their characters.\r\n• The Goal: This project helps them build empathy and reading comprehension skills in a way that feels like play rather than work.\r\nYour gift has not only provided furniture and books; it has provided a sense of belonging and a specialized space where my students feel capable of succeeding. Thank you for believing in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1758203025127,"projectUrl":"project/dream-team-5th-grade/9602816/","projectTitle":"Dream Team 5th grade","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Greene","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9336199_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1697907642652","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9336199"},{"teacherId":5449264,"projectId":8906534,"letterContent":"Thankyou very much for taking the time read my classroom request and donating the funds necessary to purchase these chairs. Your generosity and kind hearted gift was very much needed and the chairs have improved with the classroom routine significantly. Before we had the chairs, my students with special needs were sitting on adult sized chairs not designed for them and they had difficulty self regulating and participating effectively in class during important lessons. Their learning was greatly reduced and disrupted. With these chairs, we saw a difference within about a week . They were able to focus better due to the design of the chairs and they caused less interruptions for themselves and other students during learning time. The chairs are very sturdy and will last for many years in the classroom.
