Thanks to your support, we now have an impact magnetic board, a cube chair, and a sensory sock—three resources that are already transforming the way our students learn, feel, and grow each day.\r\n\r\nIn our special needs kindergarten classroom, we focus on creating a safe, engaging, and supportive space where every child can thrive at their own pace. Each item you helped provide is being used with intention and purpose:\r\n\r\nThe impact magnetic board has become one of our students' favorite tools. We use it during small group lessons, independent centers, and even therapy sessions. The hands-on, visual nature of magnetic learning supports many of our students who are working on fine motor skills, visual processing, and letter or number recognition. It brings learning to life in a way that textbooks or paper can't.\r\n\r\nThe cube chair is a game-changer for our kids who need extra support to stay seated and focused. Some of our students struggle with body awareness and need defined spaces to feel secure. The cube chair provides that structure while still being fun and comfortable. It gives them the confidence to participate more actively in circle time, reading groups, and play-based learning.\r\n\r\nThe sensory sock is another powerful tool that we now use daily. Several of our students have sensory processing challenges, and the sensory sock allows them to feel safe, calm, and grounded. Whether it's during a quiet break or as part of a sensory regulation routine, it's helping them manage big feelings and return to learning with a sense of control and peace.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has helped us meet our students where they are—emotionally, physically, and academically. Every day, we see small victories: a child staying regulated longer, using their words to express a feeling, engaging more confidently in a group activity. These moments might seem small, but they're huge steps forward for our kids.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and for choosing to invest in their growth. You are not just funding supplies—you are helping build confidence, joy, and the foundation for lifelong learning.","fullyFundedDate":1750693303493,"projectUrl":"project/seating-spelling-and-sensory-support/9421540/","projectTitle":"\"Seating, Spelling, and Sensory Support: Enhancing Learning for All\"","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Maraglino","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9828932"},{"teacherId":9828932,"projectId":9421447,"letterContent":"Since this is my first experience, I am truly grateful.Thank you so much. From the moment our little learners stepped onto these vibrant tiles, their faces lit up with joy and curiosity. The gentle movements of the liquid captivated their attention, creating an immediate sense of wonder. One memorable moment was during a group activity where students took turns exploring the tiles while sharing their feelings about different colors and movements. This not only fostered communication and social skills but also encouraged them to express their emotions in a safe space.\r\n\r\nSince integrating the sensory tiles into our daily routine, we have observed remarkable changes in our students' engagement and focus. During lessons, the calming effect of the tiles has helped soothe anxious minds, allowing students to concentrate better on their work. For instance, during a recent math lesson, students used the tiles as a tactile tool to count and explore patterns, seamlessly integrating sensory play with academic learning. The tiles have also become a go-to area for students needing a moment to regroup, providing them with a therapeutic outlet to recharge before returning to their tasks.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are excited to continue incorporating the sensory tiles into our lessons. Our next project involves using the tiles to explore concepts of movement and flow in science, where students will observe how the liquid reacts to their movements. This will not only deepen their understanding of physical properties but also encourage collaborative learning as they work together to create patterns and designs. Thanks to your generous contributions, we are able to create an inclusive and engaging classroom that supports our students' unique developmental needs.
