My students were *thrilled* the moment I unboxed the new surprise. Several of them actually jumped up and down, and one student whispered, \"This is the coolest thing our school has ever had.\" Their excitement filled the room instantly and set the tone for what has already become a favorite weekly tradition.\r\n\r\nWe now use the slushy machine every Friday as a celebration of the hard work, teamwork, and perseverance they've shown throughout the week. It has become more than just a treat—it's a meaningful way to reinforce positive habits. Students set personal goals, encourage each other, and take pride in their accomplishments because they know they're working toward a special reward that they helped bring to our classroom.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments so far happened during a challenging group project. Several students were struggling with how to divide responsibilities fairly. When I reminded them that Friday's slushy celebration was tied to teamwork and perseverance, I watched them literally pause, reset, and come back together with a fresh sense of cooperation. By the time they finished, they were proud of both their work and how they treated one another—and they earned their slushies with huge smiles.\r\n\r\nYour support didn't just fund a machine; it created a tradition that motivates, inspires, and brings joy to our classroom. Thank you for giving my students something to look forward to each week and for believing in the power of celebrating their efforts. This project has truly made our class the \"cool class\" in more ways than one.","fullyFundedDate":1760226617877,"projectUrl":"project/frozen-motivation-slushies-for-scholars/9785826/","projectTitle":"Frozen Motivation: Slushies for Scholars","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Camacho","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10298007"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_623","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":167,"numTeachers":14,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":77,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":17,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":65.2,"schoolId":623,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS 191 Paul Robeson Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS 191 Paul Robeson Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/ps-191-paul-robeson-elementary-school/623"}
