So far we have read one book during our after school book club. The students love this chance to read with less pressure, outside of the school day. I have noticed that they enjoy reading more after school, but also continue building on the skills that they acquire during the day. \r\n\r\nThey were allowed to select the book they would like to begin with and selected The Cost of Knowing. I think they chose based mostly on the cover art. The students loved the \"visions\" experienced by the main character, Alex. I think they also identified with many of his struggles.\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you so much.","fullyFundedDate":1730753657107,"projectUrl":"project/breakfree-book-club/8908808/","projectTitle":"BreakFree Book Club","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Johnson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9819226"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_3720","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":600,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":74,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":34,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"5 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":40.9,"schoolId":3720,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Passages Academy - Horizon on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Passages Academy - Horizon","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/passages-academy/3720"}
