Each week, students choose both fiction and nonfiction books in Spanish and respond to weekly questions that connect directly to the skills we are learning in our literacy modules. Having access to books in their home language has helped students feel more confident, motivated, and excited to read.\r\n\r\nStudents especially enjoy being able to revisit their favorite Spanish books while also exploring new ones. This wide variety of texts encourages them to connect with fictional characters, learn about new topics, and strengthen their comprehension skills. The books have made reading more meaningful and engaging for my students, and they now look forward to independent reading time because they feel represented and supported as readers.\r\n\r\nThis project has had a lasting impact on my classroom by creating a strong love of reading and giving students the opportunity to grow academically while honoring their language and culture.","fullyFundedDate":1758899075896,"projectUrl":"project/growing-readers-inspiring-a-love-for-b/9711761/","projectTitle":"“Growing Readers: Inspiring a Love for Books in Spanish”","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cortes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10259374_orig.jpg?crop=1771,1771,x153,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757721196016","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10259374"},{"teacherId":9802123,"projectId":8874139,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations to assist in the learning within my classroom.
