When our students received your package, our students were smiling as they opened the boxes to see a solar battery generator. Using a solar battery generator, with a solar panel is much cleaner, quieter, and less hazardous to use for the garden tools, and our mobile kitchen in our school garden to teach from farm to table. Solar energy is much more sustainable and helps our school's budget on electricity. Thank you so much for the solar generators and solar panels are essential resources that will help instruct our students (STEM) Science, Technology, Engineering and Math when we use the solar generator battery in our rain garden, and hydroponic lab. Your contribution also serves as a resource to continue for years to come beyond the classroom, to teach sustainability, by providing an alternative electric resource that we can teach students to use in case of emergencies for preparation in real life situations. Solar energy is much safer for our students without long extension hazardous electric cords. We are planning to have a team-teaching lesson with Solar one, a residency grant where teachers in the Solar Energy field come in and team teach with our students to provide more Solar energy lessons. Our students have already constructed small demonstration projects such as building batteries, and solar powered windmills for our science fair projects this year. Our school will now be able to teach our special education students year-round on the importance of using solar energy thanks to your contributions. Our students would like to share a picture of our rain garden so you can see how valuable your contribution means to our garden, which has no electricity to power our garden tools. It is now December, but we plan to go out when the weather permits us to continue our lessons on solar energy. On behalf of our students, staff, and administration we want to thank you so much for your contribution. Our students are intrigued We are eager & inspired to join The Time Kids Service Stars Mission to continue to have students fight & end hunger in our school community. Our students are also happy to get more seeds for our New York City birds. In our school's rain garden, we have created a bird conservation area to help end hunger for our birds for the winter when bugs are not available for our fury friends. Your contribution has impacted on our students wanting to grow more foods to serve in our school community. The teachers and parents are pleased to get more fresh seasonings and fresh salads their children grew at school. Thanks to your contribution of seeds, we are also helping parents save money on groceries, which they are grateful. Our students are proud of the food we grow indoors and cannot wait until spring to transplant and flourish our school's rain garden to grow more food to share with the community that walks by and admire our garden. They are planting, observing, measuring growth, and making real-world connections to topics such as plant life cycles, systems, and how humans can grow food sustainably. The two bean bag chairs and sensory liquid tiles give students a predictable, soothing place to step away from a busy classroom and regulate their emotions without missing instruction. The touchscreen HP laptop provides quick access to visual schedules, calming apps, and individualized learning programs so students can practice coping strategies and academic skills in a low pressure setting. For students who struggle with transitions or sensory overload, having tools on hand means fewer outbursts, faster returns to learning, and more time engaged with peers and lessons.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most is how interactive and immediate the laptop is, they love choosing a calming activity, watching a visual timer, or tapping through a preferred learning app. The liquid tiles invite hands on exploration and give sensory seekers an appropriate outlet that helps them stay focused in class. A few students who previously shut down during loud or crowded moments now use the Calm Corner independently; one nonverbal student reliably goes to a bean bag and a favorite app to self soothe, then returns to group work calmer and ready to participate.
