Having these books has made an enormous difference in our 7th grade health class. Puberty can be a confusing and sensitive topic for students, and it's so important that they have access to resources that are inclusive, age-appropriate, and easy to understand. Now, instead of just listening to lessons, my students are able to read along, highlight, and return to the material on their own, which has made them feel more confident and engaged in the learning process.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom now looks much more interactive. Students follow along with me during lessons, but they also work in small groups to read sections aloud, ask questions, and reflect on how the content connects to their own lives. These books have opened up opportunities for respectful conversations about topics like body changes, mental health, and healthy relationships—conversations that would have been much harder to have without a shared, accessible text.\r\n\r\nA number of students who are usually hesitant to participate have been especially drawn to these books. Having the material in their own hands makes them feel more included and less anxious about asking questions. One student even told me they were glad to see that the book talks about experiences for \"all kinds of people,\" not just one type of body. It's moments like these that show how powerful your gift truly is—you've given my students not only knowledge, but also a sense of belonging and respect during a crucial time in their development.","fullyFundedDate":1744290639278,"projectUrl":"project/healthy-bodies-healthy-minds-books-on/9113206/","projectTitle":"Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds: Books on Puberty and Wellness","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sarah","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9821366_orig.jpg?crop=953,953,x204,y482&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1739480087477","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9821366"},{"teacherId":9738910,"projectId":8753261,"letterContent":"It is with extreme gratitude that I and my students thank you for funding our sensory space.
