Many of us are visual and auditory learners, and our students are no different! The Habbi Habbi books provide a unique multi-sensory experience: they offer direct, vibrant visuals while the audio wand allows our English Language Learners to hear the language in real-time.\r\n\r\nI truly believe that pairing audio with visuals is one of the most underrated yet essential components of language acquisition. We see this same logic in successful adult programs like Rosetta Stone or Duolingo—but seeing it click for a child is even more powerful.\r\n\r\nOur students have always loved reading and using pictures to make sense of stories, but these new books have taken their engagement to a whole new level. In fact, the \"problem\" we now face is that students are \"fighting\" over who gets to go to the Library Center first! As a teacher, there is no greater joy than seeing children compete for the chance to read.\r\n\r\nThank you for your incredible kindness. Because of you, our students are thriving, gaining confidence in their English skills, and—most importantly—finding immense joy in learning.","fullyFundedDate":1763388506636,"projectUrl":"project/wands-and-wonders-to-be-globally-ready-c/9817478/","projectTitle":"Wands and Wonders to be Globally Ready Citizen!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Katy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/783785"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_122351","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":74,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":34,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":122351,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about District 20 Pre-K Center Z074 on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"District 20 Pre-K Center Z074","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/district-20-pre-k-center-z074/122351"}
