The focus is on teamwork and inclusiveness. Students discuss what they would like to create together, brainstorm ideas of how to achieve their goal and learn strategies for problem solving. Students learn how to utilize the strengths of the members of their group to create a solid work force. Students further learn how to deal with frustrations and accept defeat. \r\nThe students in my class can not wait for the days we have Collaboration station time. In a very short time students have built solid friendships and learned the personal strengthens and weakness of one another, but most importantly they have learned to verbally express their thoughts and ideas in a productive and respectful manner. Donations that have afforded us the opportunity to explore the world of robotics. The students were elated to program the robots while solving mathematical equations. Students work collaboratively in teams and supported one another along the way with positive praise and reinforcement. Students learned through trial and error and diligently worked to be successful.\r\n\r\nStudent's who typically find it difficult to negotiate social situations felt empowered, confident and valued. Student's who are extremely confident and initiators felt needed and were eager to help, guide and praise their peers.
