Your thoughtful gifts, including the egg incubator, egg candeler, the egg science kit, and chicken life cycle books, have truly transformed our educational journey this year. \r\n\r\nBefore the Easter break, our students were bubbling with excitement as we embarked on chicken hatching project. The egg incubator became the centerpiece of our classroom, and we were thrilled to see 8 out of 12 chicken eggs hatch! This was a moment of pure joy for our students, and witnessing the miracle of life unfold right in front of their eyes was unforgettable. \r\n\r\nUsing the egg candler was another exciting aspect of our project. The ability to candle the eggs gave students the opportunity to ensure that the chicks were developing correctly. They were fascinated by the changes they could see through the light, and it helped them connect the theoretical knowledge from the chicken life cycle books to real life experiences. This practical application reinforced their learning and made the concepts much more relatable. \r\n\r\nThe anticipation leading up to the hatching day was tangible in our classroom. Every day, students would ask when we would receive the chicken eggs, and their excitement only grew as they waited for the arrival of the baby chicks. This eagerness fostered a sense of community among them, as they shared their thoughts and hope for the hatching process. When the chicks finally began to hatch during our school day, it was a magical moment that brought our classroom together in celebration. Typically, hatching occurs at night, so to experience this during our school hours was a first for us, making it even more special. \r\n\r\nIn closing your generous donations have not only enhanced our curriculum but have also created lasting memories for our students. The excitement, curiosity, and joy that your gifts inspired in our classroom are immeasurable. Thank you for believing in the power of hands-on learning and for providing our students with this incredible opportunity! Your support has made a significant impact, and we are deeply grateful for your kindness and generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1740015459449,"projectUrl":"project/hatching-chickens/9097802/","projectTitle":"Hatching Chickens","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hobby","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6530829_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1599136101556","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6530829"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_22708","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":461,"numTeachers":50,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":15,"percentWhite":31,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":39,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"9.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":22708,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about George L Cooke Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"George L Cooke Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/monticello-central-school-district/george-l-cooke-primary-school/22708"}
