Because of your generosity, I've been able to access engaging Teachers Pay Teachers resources that have elevated our classroom experience and allowed my students to demonstrate their language skills in creative, meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nSince September, my students have completed several projects that connect cultural learning with language proficiency. They began the year with introductory Smashdoodles, visual one-pagers that helped them reflect on their language goals and express their bilingual identity. They then created virtual tours of our school to share with their pen pals in Spain, practicing real-world communication skills while introducing aspects of American school life in Spanish. Most recently, they designed Hispanic Heritage Month biography tissue boxes, researching influential figures from the Spanish-speaking world and presenting their findings through colorful, hands-on displays.\r\n\r\nYour support has made it possible for my students to build confidence, creativity, and a deeper appreciation for the Spanish-speaking world as they move closer to earning their Seal of Biliteracy. A day each week, students are encouraged to bring in a reusable hot beverage cup because sustainability is a big part of what we're all about. As a treat, they get to enjoy coffee, hot chocolate, or hot apple cider while working on review problems from the week. It's quickly become a favorite tradition, and students look forward to it all week long. To earn their \"Hot Beverage Day,\" they work hard to complete both their homework and classwork, making it a win-win for everyone!\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, their reactions were priceless! They were beyond shocked and absolutely in awe. They told me they've never had anything like this before and were so excited to get started. It really added a new level of energy to the classroom, and it's been amazing to watch their excitement grow.\r\n\r\nThanks to the incredible generosity of our donor, the students are not only enjoying Fridays with their warm drinks, but they're also learning valuable life skills. They came up with a contract for how they can earn a \"Hot Chocolate Day\" based on effort-based achievements, not just grades. It's been wonderful to see how much ownership they're taking over their learning. They support and encourage each other to do their best, and the sense of community and teamwork has been inspiring. These days are a reflection of their hard work and dedication—and it's so rewarding to see them succeed together!\r\n\r\nWe're beyond grateful for the resources that made this possible and can't wait to keep this positive momentum going.
