The safety goggles were a huge hit with my chemistry students, especially those who wear eyeglasses. These goggles were comfortable and fit easily over their glasses, unlike the smaller plastic ones I used before. This improvement has helped create a safer environment when working with caustic chemicals.\r\nThe students also really appreciated the Expo markers. They often use them during collaborative activities, especially when I conduct formative reviews. The variety of colors makes the learning experience more interactive and fun, allowing students to actively engage in their learning. This is particularly important in chemistry, a skill-based subject where students need to practice rather than just observe.\r\nMany of my students are high achievers involved in extracurricular activities, from sports to music to clubs. They often spend long hours at school and don't get home until after dinner. The snacks have been a welcome boost, helping them power through their day until they can eat a full meal.\r\nWe are all incredibly grateful to the donors whose generosity made these gifts possible for our classroom. Thank you very much for the set of 4 ergonomic active seating ball chairs, stress balls and Coping Skills and Emotional Regulation for Teens Book. When the supplies arrived in my room, the boxes were large and impressive. \r\nMy students couldn't wait to see what we received. The ergo balls required inflation, assembly and sitting for 24 hours to set so it was hard to see them and not use them....but we waited patiently. The book has great strategies for conquering anxiety, mastering emotions and building self-confidence. We refer to it often and talk about the ideas expressed most days. The stress balls are colorful, soft, squishy and a great fidget accessory. They are located in a bin with some other fidget toys but the balls always get selected first. They are accessible to anyone, anytime. My students gravitate right to the bin upon entering the room. One of my students will often pick up a color that makes her feel happy, express that and then say \"Ahhhh, I needed that\" as she squeezes the ball. The ergo balls are the seating of choice and allow students to get sensory input fostering improved participation in the lesson. They promote improved posture and upright seating. I seldom redirect students' focus. Teachers stop in my room to try them. Some statements my student have made about the ergo balls include: \"You gotta let everyone try this!\"; \"I Love it.\"; \"I'm never going to sit in the regular chair again.\" When asked, \"Would you like a regular chair, the response was \"I'm good thank you :)\" \r\nYour thoughtfulness and kindness is truly appreciated! The \"Angel Tree\" holds dozens and dozens of paper tags/ornaments that identify gifts for needy families in our school and community. Gifts like toys for elementary aged students, gift cards to local grocery stores, hats, gloves, scarves, etc. The tree needed sprucing up, so our Geometry class decided to use the compasses provided to us by Donors Choose to create stars by constructing 2 isosceles triangles and then putting them together. You can see a couple students using the compasses to construct the triangles and then cut them out. The final products are hung in the photo of the \"Angel Tree\" in our school Library.\r\n\r\n2 other images included are of students in my Study Skills class. Prior to receiving these tuners, students struggled with tuning their instruments accurately and independently, often feeling frustrated and disheartened when they couldn't achieve the desired sound. Tuning can be a source of anxiety for musicians, especially for beginners who lack confidence in their abilities. With the addition of the Korg tuners, students now have the tools they need to tune their instruments quickly and efficiently, which has boosted their self-confidence and reduced the stress associated with tuning. This has allowed them to focus more on the joy of making music, rather than worrying about their instrument's sound quality.\r\n\r\nThe reaction from my students when the tuners were delivered was one of pure excitement and gratitude. Many of them immediately expressed how much they had been wanting a tuner of their own, and the sense of relief was evident as they recognized the value of the new equipment. Some students who had previously felt embarrassed about tuning their instruments in front of others now felt empowered, knowing they could tune privately and accurately. This small but significant change in their ability to maintain proper tuning has given them a sense of ownership and control over their learning. The excitement was not only about receiving new equipment, but also about the possibilities these tuners offered in helping them improve their musical skills.\r\n\r\nSince the tuners have been incorporated into our daily band practice, the students have utilized them consistently to improve their performances and overall musicianship. By ensuring their instruments are properly tuned at the start of each class, students are able to play with greater precision, which has directly enhanced the quality of the music we create together. More importantly, having these tuners has contributed to a more positive and productive learning environment, where students feel supported and capable. Their mental health has flourished as they experience fewer moments of frustration and more moments of accomplishment. My students and I are deeply grateful for the donation of these 22 Korg CA-2 tuners, as they have had a lasting, transformative impact on both our music and the emotional well-being of everyone involved.","fullyFundedDate":1727794462832,"projectUrl":"project/music-supports-teen-mental-health/8842797/","projectTitle":"Music Supports Teen Mental Health","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Aguglia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7862177"},{"teacherId":9797848,"projectId":8866030,"letterContent":"I hope this letter finds you well.
