They gathered around eagerly as we set everything up, pointing out the bright colors and proudly choosing their spots. The tables have already made a huge difference during center time—students now have sturdy, kid-sized spaces where they can build, sort, create art, and explore materials comfortably. The seat sacks have helped tremendously as well; having crayons, books, and manipulatives right behind their chairs means they can move in and out of activities with much more independence.\r\nThe first day we used the new tables during center time, my students' faces lit up. At the writing center, a few children immediately sat down and began exploring their materials, proudly pulling crayons and markers from their seat sacks all by themselves. At the math and puzzle center, students were able to spread out manipulatives without items falling to the floor or getting mixed up with another group. It was wonderful to see how naturally they gravitated toward the new setup—many of them stayed engaged longer simply because they felt comfortable and had everything they needed within reach.\r\nAs we continue exploring our centers—whether it's sensory play, early math activities, storytelling, or fine motor work—these new tables and seat sacks will support every part of our day. The organization and comfort they provide help our classroom run more smoothly and give students the confidence to choose activities, clean up, and take ownership of their learning. Thanks to your generosity, our little learners have a brighter, more functional space where they can grow, play, and discover. We truly appreciate the impact you've made on our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1758805855169,"projectUrl":"project/from-desks-to-discovery-tables-for-pre-/9563044/","projectTitle":"From Desks to Discovery: Tables for Pre-K!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gordon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6087867_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754880823372","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6087867"},{"teacherId":8709890,"projectId":6848678,"letterContent":"Since introducing small group tables into our special education classroom, the impact on student engagement and learning has been significant. These tables have created a more focused, inclusive environment where students feel supported and less overwhelmed. The setup encourages collaboration, allows for targeted instruction, and makes it easier to address individual needs in real time.\r\n\r\nStudents are more attentive and responsive in this setting, and many have shown increased confidence when participating in discussions or completing tasks. The smaller groups promote peer support and social interaction, which are crucial for both academic and emotional growth.
