And let me tell you, emotions were BIG and often!! I made a little space for them to go to but it didn't provide the privacy they may have sought when going through a tough time. When I saw the quiet cube, I knew it would feel cozy, safe, secure, and private; just what they would need when they are feeling overwhelmed, not in control of their feelings, and just want to be alone or with a buddy. \r\n\r\nInitially, we allowed free exploration of the cube as it was something new and exciting with no limit on the number of students visiting. We have now transitioned to using it for more of what I had intended; in our calm down corner as a retreat for one or two. I added a mat, a stuffy, a box of fidgets, and a pillow and the students love it. When there isn't anyone using it for regulation, students will often take a book in...it just lends a calming little space to our classroom. (they do know that if someone needs it, they will leave and give them the space) I honestly feel all classrooms would love having one.\r\n\r\nThank you, again, for supporting my students and classroom. Your gift is so very appreciated.","fullyFundedDate":1755724410413,"projectUrl":"project/quiet-please/9562660/","projectTitle":"Quiet, Please!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Schwartz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7495516"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_125943","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":31,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":55,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":83.3,"schoolId":125943,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Ellicottville Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Ellicottville Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/ellicottville-central-school-district/ellicottville-elementary-school/125943"}
