All of the members of the club are having a great time choosing their type of colors and shapes of beads. We have already made friendship bracelets and keychains. The students have chosen special messages to write on their projects. Several students have given their bracelets to their teachers as a way to say \"thank you\". \r\n\r\nWe are using an adapted spinner that spins the beads onto a wire and string when the student presses a switch button to turn on the spinner. This is a very exciting new tool that we are able to use. Everyone is able to participate in making their masterpieces!!!\r\n\r\nWe recently started going beyond using beads by learning how to create jewelry with lanyard string. We learned the Chinese Staircase stitch. We were able to make keychains on our first try. \r\n\r\nIn the next few weeks we plan on creating jewelry for the staff and crew of our school play. We also plan on making jewelry to give to our classmates to cheer on our school basketball team 'Go Cougars'. Hopefully, we can make beautiful presents to give to Moms on Mother's Day. \r\n\r\nWe also have an upcoming SEM fair where we will show off our projects. We will give directions to our peers on how to create a piece of their own.
