Students can now take ownership of their learning, find what they need quickly, and stay focused on tasks. The classroom feels more calm, structured, and welcoming because of these supports.\r\n\r\nThese donations have made a tremendous impact on my students' daily experiences. Students become so much more engaged when they are able to move around or create with their hands. There are still several more projects to be done like Bolivian metal embossing, Salvadorian Pupusas, and of course the Mexican piñata. The deep cleaner has allowed us to restore the couch to a clean, welcoming condition, making it a source of pride in our classroom once again.\r\nWhen my students saw the cleaner and realized what it was for, their reactions were full of excitement and appreciation. One student said, \"Now it feels like home again!\" It's amazing how something as simple as a clean, comfortable space can boost morale and help students feel safe and focused. We've already used the refreshed couch during brainstorming sessions and restorative justice circles. It has definitely become a favorite spot for group work during Spanish projects.\r\nAs we move forward, we're diving into collaborative presentations and peer-led discussions, and the couch continues to be a central hub for teamwork and creativity. Students were so thrilled to have these new additions to the classroom when they first saw the chairs and bookshelf that they asked if they could use the seats right away to read the books on the bookshelf. The students adore having a comfortable and peaceful area in my class to read and unwind in. Additionally, kids adore the books and have already begun borrowing them to read Divergent and The Hunger Games. I've used the decorations to give the space a cozier, more welcoming vibe for the students. Additionally, by providing them with more encouraging words regarding reading. \r\n During our reading period, the students will enter, sit in the newly created reading nook, and examine the various books on the bookshelf, showing interest in them. Students who are eager to finish books have already asked me if they can check them out to read at home. Each year, these resources will be utilized and able to assist new students. They especially love hot chocolate days. Through Donors Choose and your donations, I now have a fabulous hot chocolate station, where every 5 weeks, students who have filled their punch cards and earned hot chocolate can get a cup of cocoa and relax while watching a class video. They ask every week when they can have more.
