My students were beyond excited when the materials arrived—there were smiles, gasps, and so much eagerness to dive right in. It truly felt like Christmas morning for our classroom!\r\nWe are using these new resources every day during our phonics instruction. Students are now able to build words hands-on, manipulate sounds, and actively engage in learning rather than just listening. One special moment that stood out was watching a student who has struggled with reading light up with confidence as they successfully built and read a word independently. That sense of pride is something I will never forget.\r\nThese materials have transformed our lessons into interactive, meaningful experiences. Students are more confident, more willing to take risks, and more excited about reading than ever before.\r\nAs we move forward, we will continue building on these foundational skills by working on blending, segmenting, and reading full sentences. These tools will support us as we grow into stronger, more independent readers.\r\nThank you for giving my students the opportunity to succeed and for being a part of their learning journey. I am writing to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support of our DonorsChoose project. Because of your kindness, we were able to provide meaningful financial incentives that motivated and inspired our students in ways that truly made a difference.\r\nYour contributions helped create an environment where students felt recognized for their hard work, dedication, and growth. For many of them, these incentives were more than just rewards—they were symbols of encouragement and belief in their potential. Whether it was improving their academic performance, staying consistent with attendance, or demonstrating positive behavior, students were eager to rise to the challenge.\r\nI wish you could have seen the excitement in the classroom. Students who previously struggled to stay engaged began setting goals for themselves. They supported one another, celebrated achievements, and took pride in their progress. The financial incentives acted as a powerful tool, helping them connect effort with tangible outcomes while also building intrinsic motivation over time.\r\nBeyond the immediate impact, your generosity has helped foster a culture of perseverance and accountability. Students are learning that their actions matter and that dedication can lead to meaningful rewards. These are lessons that extend far beyond the classroom and will stay with them for years to come.\r\nIt is important to me that you know your donation directly impacted real students with real stories. For some, this was the first time they felt their hard work was truly seen and appreciated. For others, it provided the extra push they needed to stay on track and believe in themselves. Every single contribution played a role in creating these moments.\r\nAs an educator, I am incredibly grateful for your support. Projects like this would not be possible without people like you who are willing to invest in the future of our students. Your generosity reminds us that there is a community of individuals who care deeply about education and student success.\r\nOn behalf of my students and myself, thank you for believing in us. Your contribution has already made, and will continue to make, a direct and meaningful impact on the daily learning and independence of the children we serve.\r\n\r\nMany of our students are working toward greater independence in essential self-care tasks, particularly feeding. The suction bowls have been especially helpful for students who are not yet able to stabilize a bowl while taking bites of food. In addition, each student now has access to a cup that is personalized to meet their individual needs. One student, who was previously only drinking from a baby bottle, is now successfully using a 360 cup purchased through your donation—an incredible and meaningful accomplishment for him.\r\n\r\nYour support has also allowed us to provide tools that strengthen fine motor development. Adaptive equipment, such as easy-squeeze hole punches and self-opening scissors, enable students with limited hand strength to participate more independently in classroom activities that might otherwise be inaccessible. Additionally, materials like laminating sheets and Velcro have helped us create durable, reusable learning supports and communication tools for our students.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, we are better equipped to adapt our instruction and create meaningful opportunities for every student to succeed. Together, we designed a book journal to accompany Polar Bears Past Bedtime, giving students a place to respond to their reading, reflect on characters, record new learning, and dig deeper into the story. Most importantly, they are excited about reading. They eagerly anticipate book club days and proudly share their thinking in their journals and discussions. Colleagues stopped by throughout the day, grateful to be able to take snacks back to students who might need something extra. It's where we gather each morning for our meeting, where we sit shoulder-to-shoulder during read aloud, and where we come together to build community. What was once just open floor space is now a warm, welcoming area that invites students to sit, share, and learn together.\r\nThe first time my students saw the rug rolled out, their faces lit up. Several immediately said, \"It looks so cozy!\" and \"It feels like a real classroom now!\" One student even quietly told me, \"I like sitting here. It makes me feel calm.\" That comment alone reminded me how powerful something as simple as a rug can be.\r\nWe've already used it for partner reading, math mini-lessons, and collaborative discussions. During a recent reading lesson, students turned and talked about character traits while sitting on the rug. I noticed more eye contact, more thoughtful responses, and stronger participation. Having a defined, comfortable gathering space helps them focus and feel connected.\r\nThe rug has also strengthened our classroom routines. Students know exactly where to come for instruction, discussions, and celebrations. It has created structure while also building a sense of belonging.\r\nNext, we will continue using our gathering space as we dive deeper into our literacy units, especially during interactive read-alouds and shared writing lessons. We are also beginning more collaborative problem-solving in math, where students will come to the rug to model strategies and explain their thinking to the class.\r\nYour support didn't just provide a rug — it created a safe, inviting environment where my students feel comfortable, valued, and ready to learn.
