For example, during a recent lesson on two-digit addition with regrouping, students used base ten blocks to physically build their numbers and trade ten ones for a ten rod. I watched as one student who previously struggled with regrouping suddenly said, \"Ohhh! That's why we carry the one!\" That moment of understanding happened because she could see and feel the math instead of just memorizing steps.\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was immediate. The textile letters were another favorite as my students are very sensory aware and enjoy the feeling of the letter as they use their finger to trace each individual letter in the alphabet.
