When we first opened the boxes, the students were given time to explore with the new materials on their own. The kids were most excited about the quake game, magnets and marble run. I have included some pictures from the first day of just letting them check out these items. I will be uploading more pictures to come. \r\nThey were even excited about the books. We will have a chance to learn some new things in all areas of STEAM. They seem most excited about the AI book. I am currently designing an artificial intelligence unit to complete with the 5th graders. \r\nThe next steps will be to build on the Rube Goldberg unit we completed last year and make it even better this year with the help of the new books and materials, especially the marble run, engineering in a box book, and the Rube Goldberg book. \r\nI'm looking forward to our AI unit and learning right along with the students!\r\n\r\nThank you for supporting my students and our classroom! As a Resident Teacher with New Mexico Highlands University, it has been an incredible experience to see firsthand the impact of your kindness and support on our students' learning and growth. \r\nThe day the wobble seats arrived was unforgettable and the excitement and joy on the students' faces said it all! They were amazed to see additional flexible seating options and learning tools that made our classroom feel even more welcoming. Seeing their excitement filled me with pride to be a resident teacher in this community, working to create a space where every student feels valued and supported. \r\nSince receiving these resources, we've been able to create a more flexible and student-centered classroom, allowing students to choose seating that helps them focus and feel comfortable. The materials have also given us more opportunities to meet diverse learning needs through UDL (Universal Design for Learning) strategies- including hands-on manipulatives, visuals, and flexible workspaces. \r\nThank you for being part of our classroom journey.
