Your generosity has given my 5th grade students the opportunity to experience history in a wayy that goes far beyond simply reading a textbook. The new books have introduced students to many different people and perspectives, including Founding Fathers and Mothers, Patriots and Loyalists, and heroes whose stories are often overlooked. As we read, students are building important skills such as identifying different points of view, making connections between texts, asking thoughtful questions, and using evidence to support their ideas. They are learning that history is made up of many voices, and that understanding those voices helps us better understand our past.\r\nThe hands-on experiences have been one of the most exciting parts of this project. While learning about the Boston Tea Party and the debate over the Tea Act, students participated in a classroom tea party where they can actually drank tea, took on different roles, and discussed the issues that divided people during the time. They are also practicied cursive writing with quill-style pens on parchment, giving them a chance to experience how people communicated before modern pens and technology. One of their favorite activities was practicing their signatures and learning about the importance of signing one's name to a historic document like the Declaration of Independence. These activities turn history into something students can touch, see, and experience rather than simply memorize.\r\nI have especially enjoyed seeing students who may not always be excited about reading and learning become curious about these new stories. They love discovering people they have never heard of before and sharing what they have learned with their classmates. Through the books, discussions, writing, tea party, and historical activities, students learned to listen to different perspectives, think critically, communicate their ideas, and understand that history was shaped by many different people. Because of your kindness, my students are continuing to experience learning in a meaningful and memorable way. Thank you for investing in my students and helping bring history to life in our classroom. Your generosity reaches far beyond snacks and supplies — it directly touches the lives of children who show up every day with courage, hope, and determination.\r\n\r\nOur classroom is filled with bright, resilient, and hard-working students who are eager to learn, even when life presents challenges. Many of them navigate difficulties outside of school. Yet they walk through our doors with smiles, big dreams, and a commitment to doing their best.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, I can make sure students have what they need to start their day with dignity and confidence. A simple breakfast, a healthy snack, or something as small as a fresh hair tie can completely shift a child's morning. These small items help students feel cared for, grounded, and ready to focus on learning.\r\n\r\nYour donation will provide warmth, comfort, and nourishment. With cereal cups, granola bars, crackers, applesauce, and fruit cups, no student will have to begin their day hungry. With hair ties and small combs available, students can feel neat and confident as they enter the classroom. These essentials may seem small, but to our students, they make a world of difference.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our kids and helping create a classroom where every student feels supported, valued, and ready to learn.
