Because of you, our entire school now has access to much-needed reams of paper, and our 5th grade team has a new printer that has already made a meaningful impact on our daily instruction.\r\n\r\nWe are using these new resources every single day. The paper has allowed teachers across the school to consistently provide students with worksheets, assessments, and hands-on learning materials without worrying about running out of supplies. In 5th grade, the new printer has been especially helpful for printing reading passages, math practice, and writing organizers on demand. One specific moment that stood out was during a recent writing project, when students were able to draft, revise, and print their final pieces right away. Having immediate access to printed materials helped keep students engaged and focused on producing their best work.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were genuinely excited and grateful. Many of them understand that supplies like paper and printers are not guaranteed, and they were proud to know that people outside of our school cared enough to support their learning. Several students asked who helped provide the materials and wanted to say \"thank you\" themselves, which turned into a meaningful conversation about kindness, generosity, and community support.\r\n\r\nYour donation has given you a small peek into our classroom, and we are excited to share what's next. With these new resources, students will continue printing reading passages for close reading, written reflections, and math practice that supports their growth. The printer and paper ensure that learning continues smoothly and that students have the tools they need to succeed.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in our students and our school. Your generosity has made a lasting difference, and we are incredibly grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1760724825019,"projectUrl":"project/pages-of-possibility-turning-blank-pape/9748489/","projectTitle":"Pages of Possibility: Turning Blank Paper Into Bright Futures","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lucas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3138541"},{"teacherId":5557663,"projectId":9730828,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations! Our students are using the new resources every day in meaningful ways across our PE classes and schoolwide activities.The PE equipment has been incorporated into structured skill-building stations that focus on balance, coordination, and teamwork, while the board games are used for reward systems, indoor recesses, and in school clubs to promote cooperation and problem-solving. The sensory toys have been especially impactful, helping students self-regulate, refocus, and feel supported so they can fully participate in both academic and physical activities. As a specific example of the impact of these materials, when I first pulled out what I dubbed the \"game cart\" and showed the students the games, one kid in particular said \"wow, I've never seen so many games in my whole life!\" he was beyond excited to play all of them.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate and contagious. Many students couldn't wait to explore the new equipment and games, and several shared how happy they were to have choices that matched their interests and needs. The sensory tools were met with smiles and curiosity, especially from students who benefit from hands-on calming strategies—they quickly found favorites that help them feel ready to learn and play.\r\n\r\nThanks to our donors, the next steps for our students include expanding cooperative challenges in PE, introducing new board game rotations that emphasize leadership and sportsmanship, and teaching students how to independently select and use sensory tools responsibly. These resources are helping us build a schoolwide culture of inclusion, engagement, and support, and our students continue to grow more confident and connected each day.","fullyFundedDate":1758481368819,"projectUrl":"project/extracurricular-and-school-wide-support/9730828/","projectTitle":"Extracurricular and School-Wide Support Extravaganza","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Clark","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5557663_orig.jpg?crop=629,629,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1554864209241","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/clark-pe"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_82427","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":217,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":8,"percentWhite":9,"percentIndigenous":9,"percentLatinx":66,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"8.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":60.6,"schoolId":82427,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Tomasita Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Tomasita Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-mexico/albuquerque-public-schools/tomasita-elementary-school/82427"}
