It is always a pleasant surprise for my students to receive the packages in the mail that we open up together. I always describe items that we will receive after they've been funded, and also explain the process of getting a project going in the first place. I wanted the students to understand that it wasn't just about getting things purchased for them, but instead for them to see a way that people can help others that they don't even know, as well as help other students in the future that can also benefit from these materials.\r\nThe tambourine and the little egg shakers were a great addition to our music and movement area. I was surprised how many students didn't know a tambourine was! I'm very glad that we were able to add that as a new instrument. The various sensory tools like the squishy balls and the stretchy strings were definitely a treat for the kids. On the opposite perspective of soft touch, the modeling clay was a new experience for all but one of the students. They got to mold the clay in different ways and use some other rolling pins and cookie cutters that I had already. They talked about how hard it was to mold the clay compared to other mediums they have used such as model magic. They had fun with it when I told them that it builds up their hand muscles. The star of the show, of course, was the fort building set. They have not had a chance to use it yet due to so much going on the schedule with testing, etc., but they will get to use it here in May as a reward. Another item that was really popular was the money magnets. Their realistic look was great when I was having kids examine the money and consider different denominations. I shared the painter's tape with another teacher who liked my idea of creating sections on the board that are easier to remove or change.","fullyFundedDate":1769192152286,"projectUrl":"project/fun-movement-and-play-make-a-fantastic-s/9979178/","projectTitle":"Fun Movement and Play Make a Fantastic School Day!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McNab","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8562476_orig.jpg?crop=1536,1536,x0,y71&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1673311746695","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8562476"},{"teacherId":6569849,"projectId":9106317,"letterContent":"I wanted to personally thank you for your donation.
