Working with modeling clay helped them better understand the concept of rows and columns.\r\n\r\nAt the end of this month, my students will begin learning about fractions. My students now know exactly where to find materials and where to return them.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll continue using these tools to strengthen multiplication fact fluency as we move into more complex skills, such as multi-step word problems and early division concepts. One student in particular, who tends to lose his work, now carefully keeps it in his labeled pouch.
