One especially meaningful moment was during independent work time, when several students who typically struggle to stay focused chose the floor mats, dimmed lighting, and background sound to help them concentrate. The atmosphere immediately became more peaceful, and students were able to engage in their work for longer periods of time.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, they were genuinely excited and curious. They noticed right away how different the classroom felt and commented on how \"calm\" and \"comfortable\" it was. Students with sensory needs were especially eager to try the new seating options and lighting, and many expressed that they felt more relaxed and less overwhelmed during lessons. The sound machine has been particularly helpful in reducing distractions, allowing students to stay focused and feel secure.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, my students now have more opportunities to choose how and where they learn best. As we continue our current lessons and projects, students will use these resources during reading, writing, group work, and independent study to support focus, emotional regulation, and collaboration. Housed in the library, this mural built entirely with the donated cubes will serve as a sense of school pride.
