Because of your generosity, each student now has their own copy of Letters of Enchantment Duet by Rebecca Ross, which has completely transformed what reading looks like for this group. In a town without a public library, simply having access to books is meaningful — but having shared access to a text they chose has been powerful.\r\n\r\nThese students meet weekly to read, discuss, and debate ideas together. The books have sparked thoughtful conversations about character motivation, symbolism, relationships, and the way language shapes emotion. Students who are often quiet in traditional classrooms have found their voices during discussions, eagerly pointing out patterns, passages, and predictions. Reading has become collaborative instead of isolating, and students are genuinely excited to come to meetings prepared so they can contribute.\r\n\r\nWhat makes this experience especially meaningful is that this book club exists purely for the love of reading. There is no grade attached, no extra credit, and no external reward — just students choosing to read because they want to. Your support validated their effort and showed them that their passion matters. Thank you for investing in literacy, access, and a group of students who will remember this experience for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1762052502753,"projectUrl":"project/book-club-for-students-with-no-public-li/9850142/","projectTitle":"Book Club for Students with no Public Library in Town","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Weber","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10325542"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_82123","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":613,"numTeachers":50,"percentFrplEligible":77,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":36,"percentWhite":17,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":43,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"12.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":45.0,"schoolId":82123,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Penns Grove High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Penns Grove High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-jersey/penns-grove-carneys-point-regional-school-district/penns-grove-high-school/82123"}
