We decided to open the boxes together. We were so excited to see the brand new vacuum cleaners and floor/rug cleaner that our kind and generous donors gave our class. We took each vacuum and floor/rug cleaner out of the box and showed them how to put each vacuum cleaner together. We also showed the students how to initially charge the battery for each brand new vacuum cleaner.\r\n\r\nFor some of my students, it was their first time to be handed a vacuum cleaner with no wires or power plugs attached. We watched a video on how to use the vacuum cleaners by the specific model and brand demonstration. then I showed them how to use each vacuum cleaner. For some of them, it was so easy for them to get used to the sounds and vibrations of the vacuum cleaners. However I have some students who were frightened by the loud sound of the big vacuum cleaner when it was initially turned on. Hopefully, my students will gain more practice and skills in vacuuming a wide range of floor surfaces. Thank you very much for giving my students the opportunity to learn how to vacuum and clean floors and carpet rugs.","fullyFundedDate":1733184016655,"projectUrl":"project/sweep-clean-job-skills-for-teens-with/8805431/","projectTitle":"Sweep & Clean: Job Skills for Teens with Special Needs","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Enriquez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2012160_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1512495652472","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/maria-enriquez"},{"teacherId":5306536,"projectId":8797901,"letterContent":"The students were very excited to receive the device as a way to communicate with the teachers, para's and their classmate.\r\nThis is an enable them an opportunity to communicate with everyone in a safe environment.\r\n\"We Can All Communicate to Achieve Our Goals, Effectively Together\", was a great project to invest in. thank you for all the donations. and we are truly grateful for all you assistance in these devices.\r\n\r\nThe students will benefit from all the love and support they received form the well deserved donations for you all.","fullyFundedDate":1735675259103,"projectUrl":"project/we-can-all-communicate-to-acheive-our-go/8797901/","projectTitle":"We Can All Communicate to Acheive Our Goals, Effectively Together","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Green","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5306536_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1523467180763","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/miss-tag"},{"teacherId":770387,"projectId":8763583,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for providing books for our library. We have learned how to sort the laundry by color: light and dark; and also how to read the international fabric care symbols. Based on symbols: the triangle is for bleach, rectangle is for dry, and circle is for dry clean only. They have also learned the different temperatures: warm, cold, and hot; and cycles for the type of laundry load that is being washed or placed in the dryer.\r\n\r\nAll of my students were so excited when the washer and dryer arrived in a giant box that was taller than all of us. They were so curious to know what was inside the box. Once we opened the box, and saw that it was a washer and dryer combo, my students and I were so happy. We have all been waiting for this to happen for a long time. One student said, \"Can I bring my laundry here already?\". He was so excited that the washer and dryer has finally arrived in our Daily Living Skills room. \r\n\r\nAs soon as the washing machine and dryer are connected and installed, our students will be able to demonstrate how to load and unload the washer and dryer by themselves. It is our hope that they will gain the skills and confidence needed to gain a degree of independence that other high school students get to experience for themselves. \r\n\r\nThank you very much for your kind and generous donation that made all this possible. Seeing their excitement when they received their own bags was truly heartwarming—many of them expressed how much easier it is now to keep track of their uniforms and supplies.\r\n\r\nMeanwhile, the court creation project has given our students a space to practice, play, and build teamwork.
