Because of your generosity, our children have been able to explore important concepts of growth and change through engaging materials such as the butterfly habitat and caterpillars, butterfly counters, planting supplies, flower-building toys, butterfly books, marigold seeds, and art materials. These activities have created exciting opportunities for our students to connect science, math, literacy, and creativity while learning about transitions and preparing for their own journey to kindergarten.\r\n\r\nThe children have already planted the marigold seeds and are eagerly taking turns watering and caring for them each day. They are thrilled to observe the caterpillars crawling inside their cups and are filled with anticipation as they wait to watch the complete butterfly life cycle unfold before their eyes. These experiences have encouraged curiosity, responsibility, patience, and thoughtful discussions about how living things grow and change—just like they are growing and preparing for kindergarten. Students are also actively using the butterfly counters to sort, count, and build early math skills through hands-on play and exploration.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has made learning come alive in our classroom and has helped create lasting memories for our students during this important transition year. Your donations will be providing hands-on experiences that make learning both engaging and memorable for our students.\r\n\r\nOur students are especially excited about the ice cream bowls and spoons because they connect directly to the classroom ice cream shop currently open in our dramatic play house area. Through pretend play, the children are building important social, language, and early math skills while practicing sharing, communication, counting, and problem-solving. The seashell collecting bags and math materials will also allow students to continue practicing counting, sorting, adding, and subtracting with real objects they collect and explore.
