Students are using the plant pots, grow bags, potting soil, and perlite to create a small-scale indoor school garden focused on growing various plants such as vegetables, flowers, and native plants. With the gardening tools and gloves, students prepared soil, planted seedlings, and developed care plans. Just to name a few things we got going so far, we are growing Morning Glories, Sunflowers, Zinnias, and Marigolds, and using the garbage grabbers - which saves our backs - to pick up trash around the school. We will use the urban water testing kit to analyze local water sources, measure the pH and chemical levels of a nearby stream and connect their findings to plant health and environmental quality. One especially meaningful moment was watching students use real data to make informed decisions about how to care for their plants—turning science into action.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, students were excited and eager to get started. They immediately began unpacking the supplies and discussing how each item would be used. Many were particularly enthusiastic about using professional tools such as the water testing kit and grabber reachers for our school clean-up efforts. Students shared how meaningful it felt to know that people believed in their work, and they were especially grateful to learn that Ripple chose to match donations to support their learning, which made them feel valued and supported.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for our Environmental Club include expanding our sustainability efforts across campus and into the surrounding community. Students will use the grabber tools and heavy-duty trash bags to conduct organized litter clean-up events while possibly tracking the types of waste collected. Our growing project will continue as students monitor plant growth, test water quality over time, and reflect on environmental impacts. Students will share their findings through presentations and outreach to encourage environmental stewardship among their peers. Thanks to the donation match from Ripple and the generosity of our donors, our students are gaining hands-on experience and developing leadership skills that will last far beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nThanks again for all of the support we have received!","fullyFundedDate":1758118009798,"projectUrl":"project/green-spaces-cultivating-wellness-and-b/9395790/","projectTitle":"Green Spaces: Cultivating Wellness and Beauty","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Amores","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/environmentalclub"},{"teacherId":2177581,"projectId":8934108,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for our Heat Press & Screen Printing Kit! Currently my students are using our new resources to print their own logo designed shirts. My students were very happy when they first saw the machines and were so curious on how their hand drawn logo designs would transfer onto shirts. \r\n\r\nThe most memorable classroom project moment we had was watching the first student print his logo on a sweater using the Heat Press. When he was done, I asked him, \"Do you like it?\" and as fast as he could, he put his sweater on with his printed logo and said, \"yes, of course, I made this myself- it's mine!\" His classmates even complimented him on his color choice as it matched his uniform and sneakers he had on that day.\r\n\r\nFor our next steps we will be focusing on how to develop a business plan in order for my students to become future entrepreneurs while learning about marketing and financial management skills. We're also planning to Screen Print our School Logo at a larger print number to wear at outside community events. \r\n\r\nWe're all so grateful for this new creative resource! It's opened the creative eyes of my students to a different art possibility, especially one that is so relatable to them as a future business venture.","fullyFundedDate":1735693267012,"projectUrl":"project/future-entrepreneurs/8934108/","projectTitle":"Future Entrepreneurs","teacherDisplayName":"Mx.
