As we discussed each one, \r\nThe books were amazing as they brought clarity and understanding to what it is was they were (are) feeling.\r\nThe manipulatives were great as well. They particularly liked and were drawn to the Nesting Fruit of the different emotions, the dough mats - where they enjoyed showing me their emotions through play-do play, \r\n\r\nEveryone thinks \"Oh you teach preschool - what can you possibly do with them all day?\" - What many fail to realize is we are their first teachers after their parents. We help mold and shape them into empathetic, self-aware and confident, honest people. My goal is to make them as communicative and aware of who they are and what they are feeling in hopes that this will carry with them in all their schooling years. This cannot possibly happen unless they fully understand what it is they are feeling and giving them the tools to help them know they can feel all the feelies, but that there are also ways to help cope! Thank you for enabling me to show them this through hands-on materials along with amazing and relatable story books that help them understand even more. \r\nPreschoolers are by far vastly under-rated. They have gifts that came make adults step back and take a lesson from. \r\nPlease note - our school has strict policies of sharing photos of our students. I so wish I could show you their faces and their emotions that they have down pat of showing! Hopefully, these photos will help you see how these materials have been utilized!","fullyFundedDate":1756398151991,"projectUrl":"project/understanding-emotions-for-preschool/9329109/","projectTitle":"Understanding Emotions for Preschool","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Patty","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8664414"},{"teacherId":8664414,"projectId":9333612,"letterContent":"Our preschool program has used the smaller magna blocks for many years. Every study that we do, we are able to get magna tiles related to that particular theme. There has never been a year that I taught preschool where the kids were not completely obsessed with magna tiles. A few years ago I came across a flyer for the giant magna blocks. I had left the flyer out and later that day, one by one, my preschoolers found it! As I wandered over to them to see what they were oooooing and ahhhhing about, engaged in conversation about what they would do with these tiles, and what they could build, it was absolutely priceless. Not to mention I too shared in all of their enthusiasm as well.\r\nFor the past two years I had that same class of preschoolers. preschool Both myself and the kids would talk about these giant magnet tiles that we found in the flyer. Unfortunately, it was a huge expense that we were just not able to afford, but we had great conversations and ongoing ideas about what we would build with our giant magna tiles if we had them. \r\nAlthough the expense of the tiles is great, I decided to give donors choose a chance and see if we couldn't get these tiles this way. I am so excited that the donations came pouring in. It warms my heart to know that this class is going to be so excited with the endless opportunities that they are going to have throughout this year to build and create. I am actually going to speak to the kindergarten teacher about letting that class use them as well because it was many of those kids that I had during that time of creative exploration of these tiles, that we never thought would come to fruition.\r\nI had taken each of the tiles out just a little at a time to peak their curiosity and see how long it took them to realize that they were indeed giant magnet tiles. One little boy figured it out the first day, soon others figured it out as more blocks were added. The creativity began immediately and they hit the ground running. Currently, we are exploring different ways to build and create with them. Going forward we are planning on sharing with the other preschool classroom and the kindergarten classroom. We will also make them a part of our studies that we do throughout this year utilizing the small magna tiles, in addition to the large ones.thepossibilities are endless and I am so excited to see what ic created next!","fullyFundedDate":1756669736553,"projectUrl":"project/magnetic-jumbo-tile-imagination-station/9333612/","projectTitle":"Magnetic JUMBO Tile Imagination Station","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Patty","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8664414"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_81396","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":111,"numTeachers":18,"percentFrplEligible":25,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":76,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"6.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":82.6,"schoolId":81396,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hampton Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Hampton Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-jersey/hampton-borough-school-district/hampton-elementary-school/81396"}
