The materials in this project that were donated helped to create a strong start to our school year in Kindergarten. Each student feels independent and successful every day using their \"pencil rockets\" made from the toothbrush holders. They are in control and responsible for their belongings, which creates such a sense of confidence!\r\n\r\nStudents are also excited using laminated materials, such as math games. The laminating pouches ensure that the games are more durable and will last through game after game. The pouches are also being used for our ILA resources such as a knowledge wall. The materials in this project have been used since funding and will still continue to be used through the remainder of the school year. The name tags have been used all year so students know where to sit and where their belongings are. The laminating pouches are being used for a multitude of activities, such as Roll, Read, and Smash games where students blend sounds together and practice reading words. This is a class favorite and can be differentiated for all abilities! The sheet protectors are being used for assessments such as testing students on which High Frequency Words they know. The book stand has also helped all students see when we read big books. Students come in each morning, and after unpacking their things, get to play with one of the toys at their table. This creates a calm energy in our classroom. Students are excited to get to school and see what else we will learn as the day progresses. Students also work on other social skills like sharing, taking turns, expressive language, and being patient.
