When a student has a birthday, they receive a small bag with treats, school supplies, a sticker, and a birthday scratch-off with fun classroom rewards, along with a personal note from me. One moment that really stood out was a student who quietly said, \"No one's ever done this for me at school before.\" It took less than a minute, but it completely shifted their day and our relationship moving forward. It was great to see high schoolers feel celebrated. Even students who didn't want to be recognized publicly, loved that they got sometime quiet just for them.\r\n\r\nStudents were genuinely surprised and excited. Some laughed, some smiled shyly, and others tried to act cool but clearly appreciated it. A few students immediately asked if everyone would get one on their birthday, and when I said yes, they said things like, \"That's actually really nice,\" It helped set the tone that this classroom isn't just about learning us history content but recognizing them as people in my room who matter.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our current lessons, these birthday moments help strengthen the classroom community and trust that makes learning possible. When students feel seen and valued, they are more willing to participate, take academic risks, and support one another. Moving forward, students will continue working through collaborative projects and discussions, and these small celebrations help reinforce that our classroom is a safe, supportive space where they belong.\r\n\r\nThank you from the bottom of my heart for making this possible.","fullyFundedDate":1763667847859,"projectUrl":"project/no-birthday-left-behind/9492369/","projectTitle":"No Birthday left Behind","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. T","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/428254"},{"teacherId":9780515,"projectId":9074639,"letterContent":"We are so grateful for your generosity in supporting our Esports program! Thanks to your contributions, we have been able to expand our opportunities for students and bring new life to our team. The technology you provided has given our program the tools we need to keep growing and to create meaningful experiences for our student-athletes.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting developments is that we have been able to start a small broadcasting program. Students are now learning how to stream our matches live on Twitch and are even practicing shoutcasting and commentary. This has opened up a whole new avenue of learning, where students can explore careers in broadcasting, communication, and production—all while supporting their teammates and representing our school.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the extra computer we received allowed us to welcome three more students into the program this season. These students might not have had the chance to participate otherwise, and now they are a part of a team where they can learn sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership. Your support has made a real, lasting impact, and we cannot thank you enough for helping us grow our program and give these students such incredible opportunities.","fullyFundedDate":1746786392198,"projectUrl":"project/streaming-equipment-for-high-school-e-sp/9074639/","projectTitle":"Streaming Equipment for High School E-Sports Team","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Rodriguez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9780515_orig.jpg?crop=172,172,x0,y28&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1729693055314","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9780515"},{"teacherId":9834279,"projectId":9028982,"letterContent":"The gracious donations have helped our students to be able to safely produce more theatrical set pieces. Large pieces of wood can be placed on the saw horses so it can easily be marked for cutting, the clamps help keep items from moving, and the tool cart helps to store many of the small tools and supplies that we are slowly accumulating.\r\nSince the donations arrived, students have been able to work on set pieces for The Little Mermaid Jr as well as The Prom. Custom lit prom decorations, signs, and prefabbed flats that needed repair were all items that were all items that have utilized these donations so far and definitely helped our thespians with set construction and let our shows go on. \r\nDeepest appreciate for helping to fund our projects.","fullyFundedDate":1739558235671,"projectUrl":"project/help-our-thespians-with-set-construction/9028982/","projectTitle":"Help Our Thespians With Set Construction!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Sayre","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9834279"},{"teacherId":9834279,"projectId":8940564,"letterContent":"The new resources helped our students to create props for our spring musical which ended last Saturday, The Prom. The students were eager to help put together the new table saw and then begin using it; in fact, I turned it on for the first time and ran a small piece of wood through to be sure everything was setup properly but have not been able to use it since. \r\nThe reaction was perfect. Most had never touched a power tool before but they wanted to help. Now they are experts and are ready for the next opportunity. The first project was producing lightweight illuminated truss segments to be used as accent pieces in the final scene of The Prom. All pieces were cut, assembled, lit, and configured by the students. It was a great addition to the show and they are looking forward to larger contributions during the fall drama production.
