The students were excited about their cute new pens, and their ability to write in various colors. That will also help in the coming weeks when we are doing editing and revisions on our creative work!\r\n\r\nAn added benefit that I hadn't thought of, but which I was able to do this week, is lend the floor cushions to other teachers for their students! One of my colleagues said that her classes asked if they could spend a period reading. What teacher doesn't love to hear that!?! I was happy to be able to offer the comfy, colorful cushions to her for her students to settle in and read for a while. \r\n\r\nSo thank you! Some students used the opportunity to write about events of the world and present that writing to a real online audience. Some students were able to express their opinions or share their enthusiasm for music, or some other passion. Others shared information about school events with the school community and the community online. \r\n\r\nAll of these opportunities have helped them experience journalism, and gave them a real audience for that work. For example, after reading a short story called \"Lamb to the Slaughter\" we created visual representations of the story in Canva and were able to print beautiful creations to demonstrate their understanding of the story and to show their creativity to t he class. \r\nAdditionally, I have been able to print colorful certificates to recognize student achievements, which has been a fun addition to our classroom.
