Many of our students are struggling with anxiety, depression, and even substance use, and we have noticed a decline in social-emotional learning that impacts their ability to build self-awareness and healthy relationships. This project is helping us continue our wellness center so that students have a safe, welcoming space where they feel a sense of belonging, inclusion, and acceptance.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the newly stocked space with snacks, drinks, and a fresh, inviting environment, their faces lit up. They were excited to know that there is a place where they can take a breath, feel supported, and know that someone cares. Something as simple as having a snack or a clean, good-smelling room helps them feel ready to open up and express themselves.\r\n\r\nNext, students will be participating in social-emotional learning projects within the wellness center to help them explore and manage their emotions, develop coping strategies, and build stronger connections with peers. With access to these resources, they will be better equipped to regulate their nervous systems, focus on learning, and step into their best selves.
