The students were thrilled when I told them that we were able to receive funding for all of the items on our wish list. We have started meeting every Wednesday after school, and they told me this has now become the highlight of their week. \r\n\r\nEach week the students are able to gather together, and depending on their mood of the day, they can express their creativity by drawing and creating comics, or simply hang out together and read through some comic books. Of course, each meeting would not be complete for them without sharing a snack with friends. It has become a nice ritual for us to end each meeting with a snack and a chat before heading out for their walk home. \r\n\r\nIt's so refreshing to see them come and visibly relax after school; thank-you for the part you had in making that possible for them. They are able to read and create, while simply being themselves. They delighted in the variety of snacks available to them, including breakfast and lunch items for when they might forget or not have those items available.\r\nI simply can't thank you enough for your kindness. You didn't just help me purchase goods/materials for my students, you helped demonstrate to my students that people in the world care about their success.
