One of our favorite moments so far has been during small group reading time. Students are now able to choose books from our classroom library that truly interest them, and they are much more excited to read and share their thoughts.\r\n\r\nIn math, we recently used manipulatives during a lesson on problem-solving. Instead of just working through problems on paper, students were able to physically model their thinking. I watched several students have \"aha\" moments as they moved pieces around and suddenly understood concepts that had previously been challenging. The whiteboards have also become a daily staple, giving students a chance to practice skills in a low-pressure way while I provide immediate feedback.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, the excitement in the classroom was incredible. Students were eager to explore everything right away—especially the new books and hands-on tools. Many of them immediately gravitated toward the classroom library, flipping through pages and asking if they could start reading.\r\n\r\nAs we continue using these resources, our next steps involve deepening both literacy and hands-on learning experiences. In reading, students will begin participating in small group discussions and simple book response activities, helping them build comprehension and confidence in sharing their ideas.\r\n\r\nIn math, we will continue using manipulatives to support more complex problem-solving and encourage students to explain their thinking using both materials and whiteboards.
