As a teacher that is returning to the classroom after several years out, I did not have a lot of resources, and the ones that I did have were geared toward only one grade level. Teaching in a rural setting with a combined grades classroom with Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade, I need a lot of curriculum and material management. Teaching 3 grades in one day is not for the faint of heart. We are busy, constantly moving, and switching gears every 30 minutes. With your generous donations, I have a fully functional classroom that can meet these demands. \r\n\r\nThe rolling organizers house our day to day curriculum and keep us organized. They also hold each students individual headphones and whiteboards. Students are learning to be independent and be responsible in their independent learning. We are able to have a very well laid out library with books categorized by reading ability. When students complete work, they don't just sit around. They are able to find books perfect for their capability and do Renaissance Reader book quizzes over books they have read on their own with partners/teachers. The colorful reading book bins help them select books perfect for them and allow our \"student librarian\" an easy way to sort and return books once they are used. Whiteboards are used to help me understand in real-time what my students know and what they need reteaching on instantly. Plus, the younger students get a great way to work on fine motor skill development. The Computer cart allows me to work close by students, while projecting current work and providing great visual aides/guided practice skills for my students. \r\n\r\nIn a classroom with such a unique dynamic with multiple grades, it is really so crucial to have organized ways for student's work and materials to be stored. All of the essentials that were purchased in this wish list are used daily, are well taken care of to last for years, and are appreciated beyond belief. I love teaching, and I am loving every second of this new path with multi grade level learning. My students love the bright and colorful design, and we have even created some fun learning games with the numbers embedded. Students are also learning to be independent and be responsible in their own learning. We are able to have a very well stocked library with books categorized by reading ability. When students complete work, they don't just sit around. They are able to find books perfect for their capability and do Renaissance Reader book quizzes over books they have read on their own with partners/teachers. They are able to choose a great book, and lounge on the kid-size couches while they read! Flexible seating cushions allow them move around and choose other seats when they get tired of tables and desks. \r\n\r\nThe carpet markers are a fun and functional way for my students to learn procedures and listening skills. They use them daily to line up, but also for counting/jumping games for my Kinder students, addition and subtraction skills for my First Graders, and place value practice for my Second Graders. We get so much use out of them!\r\n\r\nIn a classroom with such a unique dynamic with multiple grades, it is really so crucial to have fun ways for students to work and learn. Flexible seating and rotating groups is one great way to do that!
